What is wrong with you people?

* Obama & Company talking about suspending Miranda Rights in certain cases, yet there is no outcry from all you LPB's who moaned and groaned endlessly about the Patriot Act? Which, by the way, the current administration loves and you remain silent about that love.

* Oil is pumping endlessly into the Gulf and Obama & Company have been outed as being in the hip pocket of BP... yet all the LPB's don't have a problem? This thing has the potential of destroying more of the ecology and economy than several Katrinas and you folks are silent?

* Where's the anger over the simple fact that Obama & Company have shepherded us into almost certain financial ruin from overwhelming debt and all the while, we're paying the largest share for bailing out Greece? Greece? Fuck Greece! They're a pimple on the world's ass. It's America that could bring down the whole house of cards!

* This Yahoo in the White House actually told a graduating class that there is too much information and that the sea of info they are ingesting is harmful. Harmful? Information? What info is he talking about? You people would have been popping major blood vessels if GW Bush had said something as clearly stupid. Unless it wasn't stupid. Maybe Obama doesn't want people to have information. It might... you know... make them informed.

* Why is this man still campaigning for the health care bill? He got it passed despite an overwhelming majority of Americans being dead-set against it. Yet he still feels the need to lecture us on how good it will be? Is Barack already worried about 2012? Perhaps he's worried that if too many Americans get information they'll really, truly understand how his spendthrift policies have pushed us to the brink of economic collapse.

* Honestly people... if anyone but Obama talked about Americans in the derogatory and hateful fashion this guy does you'd be storming the White House with pitchforks and torches. This guy actually got on national TV and called the Tea Party people "tea baggers". Excuse me? That's about as un-presidential as you can get, it's disrespectful of Americans and shows this guy is unfit for the office. I think he should be forced to go back on national TV and... since he used the phrase... explain to the public exactly... word for word... what tea bagging is. Or maybe he could get Tampon Rahm to explain it in his stead.

* How come when America elects a non-white president it's that person who creates a brand new racial divide in America? Most of us are several decades past race politics... but apparently not Obama. He seems to be mighty pissed that he isn't yet compared to MLK. Is that going to be Obama's legacy? The man who brought racial politics back to America so he could fight white oppression while raking in millions from oil companies?

Anyway... I made the mistake of scanning through the week-end news shows and this is exactly what I took away from them. Thank you for listening... and for being supportive of exactly what you hated less than two years ago.

*PS*

Does anyone think it's disturbingly hilarious that the MSM is claiming the economy has recovered and flaunting the decrease in jobless claims? All while unemployment rose to 9.9%. Weird huh? Less and less of us have jobs... but Obama's strategy has saved us from... from... something. Work? it saved us from having to work?

Saw that on the front page of Yahoo, and I thought it was a prank, or that someone had hacked Yahoo.

Yeah, "information" without journalist integrity is just noise.

FWIW, I agree with you on 1,2 and half of 4. On 4 I am guessing he wanted to draw attention to all the misinformation on the Internet and to take it all with a grain of salt as it can irrationally skew your world view. He just did it in a very awkward and ill-worded way, making himself look like Bush.

This whole thread is so full of logical fallacies it's not even funny. Speaking about journalistic integrity. This whole rant proves that Tripp doesn't and will never have any.

Why slam him rudely and use pointless one liners and sentences that do not back up YOUR point. Where is YOUR proof that his case is not solid? Just because YOU do not agree with it?

I don't need proof to back up any of my "opinions". That's whats great about opinions. They are like assholes, everybody's got one. Where's Tripps proof about his opinions? A bunch of links to some pundit graph here, fox news snippet there?

Just because you are addicted to google, doesn't make it news or true.

Right, so LESS information is better.
Which information should it be? That which comes from "ordained" sources?

It's not information, it's slant, it's noise. Just because someone writes it, doesn't make it worthy of listening to. GOOD information is worth listening too, and so far I haven't heard any in this thread.

Three times? Let me guess: once for Rush Limbaugh, once for Glenn Beck, and once for Sean Hannity. There, it adds up perfectly.

Actually, he didn't say that at all: he said that with greater access to information, education's importance increases as it becomes more necessary to sort truthful information from bad. Your misinterpretation of his statement really only helps make his argument for him.

The funny thing was listening to The One talk about how he can't work an iPod. Am I the only one who remembers during the campaign how we were told what was on The One's iPod to show how connected he was with Youth Culture? Dude even gave an iPod to the Queen. And now he tells us how awful they are (along with those horrible XBoxes and Playstations and iPads).

Old Model: Obama is young and hip and connected!

New Model: Obama sez "Get off my lawn!"

Again, nothing worth listening to.

Man, are you predictable.

Irony, thy name is Drew. Let us examine each of these remarks, which Drew claims state that "access to varying forms of media is harmful to democracy."

Quote:

Obama makes a speech commenting about how sometimes political media is uncivil, but then turns around and says that historically politics in America is an uncivil business, and on top of that further suggests that people seek out additional media that they might be inclined to disagree with so to broaden their informative experience. (This is pretty much exactly the opposite of what Drew claims Obama said.) Drew: 0 for 1.

Quote:

Obama tells a bunch of amusing-if-predictable jokes and then suggests that a wider range of media outlets demands that hard facts be agreed upon and not opinionized. Drew: 0 for 2.

Quote:

As previously addressed, Obama says that greater education is necessary to sort through additional reporting on the same incident to determine what really happened for oneself, which is probably the most obvious thing that can be said about the current state of media anywhere. Drew: 0 for 3.
