First off sorry if this is the wrong place to post...(NOOB alert!)

Secondly, I may be going mad, as I can't seem to find it anywhere, but as a kid (i.e. sometime in the 80s) I'm sure I bought a board game from a car boot sale. I can't remember what it was called, nor much else about it, here is what I know;

It was vaguely based on the idea of ambassadors/ spies/ embassies
The game board was a little Cluedo-like, except the corridors were paths with hedges and the rooms were the actual embassies
You went round collecting cards, some of which (if not all) had cyrillic characters on them. I *think* you maybe had to collect enough characters to make 'words' and decode them
I *think* you had to avoid other spies (i.e. getting caught)

Anyone have the faintest notion what I'm going on about? Or did I invent a really good game in my head?

Yes, not many of us about!

Just to add: the game is from the 60's, I've had my copy pretty much since it came out. If you're thinking of re-acquiring it now, be sure to get the early (blue box) edition, there was a later red box edition that was much weaker in terms of gameplay. There are plenty of copies on ebay at the moment.

Enjoy!

What do you mean IF I'm thinking of...

Yes the blue box was the one I remembered, and had the cards with the words you collected for points. Seem to be some crazy priced 'FIRST EDITION's on eBay (and even worse is specialist online stores! - £40!!!!) but I managed to get a BIN with a 'damaged' box, which had all contents safely (I don't recall ever having aerials in my childhood copy! Mine now are copper wire, are these likely to be originals?) for something silly like £3.75 plus £2 postage. Was delighted, and when it arrived though the box is a bit 'squished' at the bottom the oily stain on top was easily wiped off leaving just some 'rusty' marks, which I'm fairly sure my old copy had too - perhaps something to do with Waddginton's warehouse?!?!?!

Looking forward to some retro gaming with my other half!
