Episode 8 of BoardgameSpeak has been posted! This is part 2 of a 2 part episode.

This is a continuation of Episode 8 where we are speaking with Ben & Marcia Baldanza about gaming in schools and Ben's involvement with teaching adult education classes.

Word to the wise: these early shows are a bit rough to listen to sometimes...

Board Game Class
When Ben mentioned that he has been teaching a "Beyond Monopoly" class as a public offering, bells and whistles went off in my head. My community has a recreational league that teaches plenty of classes ranging from cooking to theater. I thought 'Why not?' I have sent a query to the rec league to see whether they might allow me to do the same. Like many gamers, I am so passionate about the hobby that I am always looking for opportunities to promote it.

Hope you don't mind if I call the class "Beyond Monopoly," Ben. It's short and sweet and it just fits.

Re: GeekSpeak Episode 8 - Part 2
Thanks for this great episode. As a German, what I really like about the show is listening to you Americans trying to pronounce difficult german names. "Lieber Bairisch Sterben" cracked me up ...

Oh, and Derk, by the way: It is definitely "Schotten Totten" with closed 'o's like in 'Scots', not open 'o's.

Another thing: the nickname (or rather some sort of abbreviation) of Karl-Heinz Schmiel is Kalle. So Marcia and Ben could just call their dog 'Kalle' to make it even more geeky.

Derk's German
I don't think Derk should be schooling anyone on how to speak German.

Ted's report was great. Almost, just almost made me want to buy the Betrayal...but nahhhhhhh caravan
