Hold the Line and its predecessors were certainly playable solitaire, so I'm sure you could do the same with this game.

Yes, and because of the random cap it actually adds a little more suspense I think to playing solitaire. I love chit activation games (I'm designing a series on Civil War battles) because of this factor. Any game that adds randomness I think works for solitaire including card driven games.
