There's a haunt where the player with the lowest might summons Death. The game seems very stacked against the humans. The humans only win if they beat Death at a game of chess (in this case dice ie roll greater than death). Normally, you have to break seals to weaken Death's no of dice. However, there are items such as adrenaline which add 4 to the trait dice roll. This can instantly beat Death with a +4. I feel that this makes the game stacked against the traitor as the humans can simply roll and add adrenaline to their trait roll. What do you think?

In this game you pretty much have to forget about balance. The game is not balanced nor it doesn't pretend to be.

That said, what you say is true, you could use that and beat death, but only if you

Have that item

Have an hero with a high knowledge to begin with

Manage to put the two together in time
The special roll that death makes has an average of around 10.6, so even with +4 a win is not a given.

There are many hunts that are made much easier or harder if some particular room is already out or not, how much of the house has been explored etc. Having one that could be turned over by the discovery of one item is not that upsetting I think.
