Should I buy Pitchcar for $70 (US)?

Should I buy Pitchcar Mini for $50 (US)?

Which is better? What exactly is the difference in size? I can't find any exact dimensions for track or cars.

Stay clear for a while...
I don't know....
It's hard to get PitchCar Mini and expansion right now, plus the reviews for it are not all that great.

I heard that younger kids play well with the Mini version, but I wonder if the cars really fly off the track more often than I am willing to deal with.

I never played PitchCar either....got Carabande (which is quite cheap on ebay.de) Got a German connection???

Yes, the cars fly off more often. But PitchCar Mini takes up a lot less space.
They both play pretty well - as long as they are set-up on a proper flat surface - and both seem to produce the same general level of mildly repressed hysteria that makes for a good time.
If you've got a decent amount of space then go for the full-size version. Otherwise, PCMini works fine, although the bridge in the expansion doesn't have a proper "over-and-under" mode (it would have been tricky to engineer in the small size, I guess.)

Not really reviews...
I read through the personal comments on the BGG (or lack thereof). Playing Carabande, I have to say that just the base-game will leave a lot to be desired. So, to have a "better" game you will eventually need to add the expansion. However, the expansion - personal comments - left me very disillusioned (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/viewcollections.php3?gameid=143...)

Playing Carabande twice a year, I am longing for a game that takes up less space, since I am unable to use all my track pieces at the same time. I am still considering the Mini version with expansion, but I will wait until there is more info available.

Personal comments for Pitchcar are much better. My question is the difference between Pitchcar and Pitchcar Mini. I don't think we'll be buying the expansion for either.

So, how do they stand up on their own? Is Pitchcar worth the extra $20?

Does anyone have the actual dimensions of both games? What size table is required for each? How wide are the tracks? Are the cars the same size?

Here is some info...
Die Streckenbreite, als Beispiel, ist von ca. 14,0 auf ca. 8,7 cm geschrumpft.

Talking about the track width....14cm down to 8.7cm - a LOT smaller.

The cars are smaller in the Mini version and the track is about 2/3 of the original Pitchcar.

The feeling is almost the same (just don't hit the mini cars too hard!).

The mini version takes much less space (i need a 2x1 meter table to setup the original Pitchcar + Expansion).

If you have the space go for the original Pitchcar - it is more impressive!

I'm guessing you are having these imported, I can't find the mini version anywhere in the US.

Where did you get your copies?
