If it's 2-4 players my guess is it's small box #6.

Aren't we kind of tired of the fact that so many of the Knizia games are auction games?

Uh...
Will it be set in Renaissance Italy? I don't believe Renaissance Italy has been touched on yet...

I find Ra, Amun-Re, High Society, and Modern Art to all be entirely unique auction games; I'm happy to let him try his hand at another, particularly when it's being published at Alea, which pretty much requires innovation.

I hope this remark was meant to be sarcastic.

I thought Louis XIV - Intrigue in the Court of the Sun King was already slated as Alea #10.

And if I'd bother to read the press release instead of blindly commenting, I'd see that it mentions that.

Another auction?
I'll pass on this. I like auction games but I can only justify so many. Medici, Traumfabrik, Amun-Re, Modern Art, Ra, Industria, Princes of the Rennaisance, Princes of Florence, Santiago, Power Grid...I think my auction cup is full.

As you can tell by many of the titles here, I'm a big fan of Knizia and auction games in general but I'm ready for something a little different.

It does say it is an "Auction and Building Game" (rather than pure auction) and it also says 2-4 players.

Hmmmm... I wonder if THE MASTER can make a good auction game that really works for 2 players? That might be worth getting, but it is a wait and see proposition for me.

The article says: "This game has a rating of 3 on Alea's complexity scale."

Is that 3 out of 4? Or 3 out of 5? Or out of 10?

Interesting Brent, just out of curiosity, where did you get the info?

I'd be intrigued to see how alea rates the complexity level of its full line of games...
