My buddy received the game Friday and we gave it try Saturday morbing. We had given the rules a quick read and figured that we could just work our way through any snags as we went... We hit a wall when we tried a and charge -we got confused with the charhe and melee rules. We will read in detail today and give it another go...

Reagrding this subject, are there any key functions or pinters that we should know?

Not sure what you are asking about the differences.

Charges are simply melees using cavalry that can come from 1 or 2 hexes distance and if successful use a special +10 plus figures bonus and ignore all others except support. If the target is infantry in square, then the normal melee modifiers apply with an additional -5. If the cav gets disordered by defending artillery fire, then a normal melee occurs with a disordered penalty.

Other than these, all the normal rules of melee apply to charges.
