Owens Cross Roads
That's a moray!
My son Bennett (age 8) came up with this variant, "Happy Queens".
The object of this game is to have the most happy queens. Point values do not matter.
You may make a queen happy by playing the corresponding number card from your hand. Lay it under the queen. You can do this at any time.
Happy queens are resistant to attack. It takes two knights or two sleeping potions (we call them "zizzing things") to attack them. It still only takes one card to defend them.
Two queens do not have corresponding number cards, so can never be happy. They have special abilities instead.
When you take the peacock queen, you may retrieve one number card of your choice from the discard pile.
The rainbow queen makes all your happy queens count as two rather than one.
