The value of the Panzer Grenadier Headquarters Library continues to grow as each game's page now lists its complete OOB.

Ever wondered which games have the greatest diversity of units? Here's the Top Ten:

# Secret Weapons - 254 unique units (insane? yes)
# Road to Berlin - 149
# Edelweiss: Expanded - 147
# C&CV1: War in the East - 142
# Sinister Forces - 141
# First Axis - 138
# Cassino '44 - 126
# Arctic Front - 123
# Desert Rats - 121
# South Africa's War - 117

Considering there are only 154 counters included in Secret Weapons, and those are split between two identical sheets, in what way are there 254 unique units?

The OOB counts presence in scenarios, not counters. There are 154 counters in SeWp as the library shows. But if you played all 31 scenarios, at the end you'd have handled 254 unique units.

How? It's an expansion and draws units from 14(!) other titles.

There are 154 counters in the game. Even if you count 'unique' as 'counters only used in this one game', there can be no more than 154 of them. As there are two identical counter sheets in the game, none of them are actually unique, as there's at least 2 of each.

If by 'unique' you actually mean 'distinct', that's a different matter.

This is silly.

Here's the process:

1. record the OOB for each scenario in Secret Weapons
2. merge all scenario OOBs into one master list (885 total unit types)
3. remove duplicate unit records (reduces to 254 unit types)
4. output "Game OOB"

For standalone games the Game OOB will always be less than the total included counters.

For expansion games it will usually be more.

If that helps you understand what that number means, and you think there's a better name for it than Game OOB, I'm happily listening...

(edit to add actual numbers)
