The mysterious mystery that is BGG Zendo continues...

If you would like to join in this round, go ahead! A few guessing tokens have been awarded, but you won't be too far behind. Check out the rules here:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geekjournal.php3?action=viewcom...

Now, on to today's summary:

The doppelganger did not make another appearance, but a wandering stranger has joined in. He seems to have a deep, piercing insight - could he be the chosen one? Or is he the bringer of all doom... Our philospohy requires me to take him in, but one cannot be too trusting in these dark times.

Mondo Lists:
No mondo lists were posted in Round 6.

Guessing Tokens:
KentuckyKid's Round 5 list DID NOT have the Geek Nature. Unfortunantly, no one guessed correctly - probably due to its great similarity to a previous list that DID have the Geek Nature. There must be something different, though... The golden camels status is as follows:
sdownin goldencamel
scurra goldencamelgoldencamel
dakarp
icheyne
KentuckyKid
Sal M goldencamel
Rubric goldencamel
TomVasel
Latria goldencamel
jwandke goldencamel
JoeSteadman goldencamel
Matt Kimball

If you would like to use a guessing token to guess the rule, post it below, along with your Master or Mondo list. And don't forget to vote for the Mondo list!

Mondo!
I have a theory! Now I just need a golden camel to hang it on. So, here's a Mondo list:

Goa, War of the Ring

Round 6:
Beyond Solitaire (Wandering_Stranger)

What the...?! What does *that* have to do with anything.

*sigh*

Well, I have the opposite problem from KentuckyKid. I've got the magic camel, but no theories. I had a theory (a bad one, admittedly) about some amorphous connection between Reiner Knizia and Italy, but this Beyond Solitaire entry kills that idea.

Anyway, here is my next MASTER list:

Beyond Solitaire, Einfach Genial

I'm with Rubric. Too many camels, not enough ideas.

Wow, that sounds really interesting! I wish I could read people's minds sometimes and see the stuff they come up with. I won't give anything away, but it's not something crazy. There's several "classes" of rules in Zendo... for example, "the list contains xxxx games with xxxx properties" is one class of rule (the class used for the first 3 games). Whenever a new "class" of rule is introduced to a group (a rule that has an entirely different structure), it can be very hard to figure it out, since everyone is still thinking in terms of the classes they know.

One thing that helped me initially was looking at some recommended Zendo rules - it showed me the kinds of things that were possible. For example, one that really blew my mind was "the number of pyramids pointing at other pyramids is greater than the number of pyramids pointing up" - those rules are really quite insane (no, this rule is not that hard) and make for very difficult games, but it did open my mind to the different kinds of things that were possible.

Anyway, here's a link to some "tips for students". It's the length of a small novel, but there's lots of interesting information in there.

Well certainly each time I come up with an idea, one of the "rejected" lists shoots it down. (Usually it's the "single entry" ones that are flooring me.) That's not to say I'm not enjoying the experience of bashing my head against a wall...

Sorry, but I have spend too much time on this. Can I auction off my camel to a deserving participant?

Although I'm not opposed to the idea, I can't think of a way to do this fairly... it's not right to spend GG on it, since spending shouldn't get you ahead in the game (versus someone who didn't spend anything).

And I can't think of any other kind of auction that would still be fair to the people who earned camels normally.

Maybe you can make a wild, reckless guess with your camel, throwing all caution and sense to the wind?
