Must you allow others to see how many cowboys/guns are in your personal reserve if you are not currently engaged in a duel?

Must you allow others to see how much money you have?

This isn't explicit ruled in the rulebook.

However, as all characters have a cash limit, it's safe to assume that cash has to be open knowledge. How else could you check that no one holds more cash at roundend than he is allowed to?

For the cowboymeeples and guns, it's just not handy to keep them secret, as it's always traceable who has how many of what! Remember, all you get and loose in meeples and guns is open information!

you can't possibly hide your personal reserve so you might as well speed up the game and show everyone. Guns can be counted from the buildings you have bought and the general reserve plus cowboys on the board are always present for how many cowboys you don't have. If you really want your opponent to spend 5 minutes counting go right ahead, or you could just tell them and save 5 minutes.

As for cash, it has already been pointed out that it has to be open.

Besides, hiding all that information doesn't make that big of a difference anyways.

Because cowboys in your personal reserve count toward "gun points" in duels, I say that you are obligated to show your personal reserve of cowboys to other players.

When we place cowboys, I'm monitoring how many other players can possibly hold back and pass early to bolster the duels that may take place. This information adds to the gameplay.

"So, ya think yer gonna try n' rob mah bank? Welllll, let's just see what ma three friends here have ta say 'bout that."

(pass early and keep three cowboys in personal reserve.)

I'm pretty sure that the only secret item is the random gun tokens you get when you choose that instead of the dice.

Otherwise, the game would have given you a screen.
