I recently fell in love with Chobani Pineapple Yogurt.

In order to save trash and pennies, I thought I'd buy the big tub of their plain yogurt and just add fresh fruit.

My first attempt of pureed blueberries and peaches was delicious.

My latest attempt of pureed pineapple, strawberries, and peaches........tanked. The pineapple turned the yogurt really acidic and practically inedible.

What's up with "pineapple yogurt" -- it's fake, I tell 'ya!!!!!

Was the pineapple fresh? Fresh pineapple is VERY acidic. Try using canned without added sugar next time.

I like to buy plain yogurt and add cherries and vanilla. Are there any flavors better than cherry or vanilla? I rather doubt it. Maybe on some other planet, but not on this one.

Well, okay, mango could be a contender. Hmm...mango yogurt?

Maybe next time don't puree the pineapple—just leave it in little chunks. Strawberries can be a little tart too, so maybe that just wasn't a good combination.

Not only is fresh pineapple acidic, it contains copious amounts of an substance that is basically a meat tenderizer. If you've ever used the product Accent in the kitchen, that's the stuff. It's also in fresh papaya.

Fresh pineapple should not be contaminated with other substances. It improves everything it touches (much like bacon does) but that also means that everything else just drags the pineapple down.

Mmmm...pineapple.

This is also the reason why you can't use fresh pineapple in jello. It is also why you shouldn't put pineapple, fresh or canned on pizza. No wait, that is because it is disgusting gulp.

Can't vouch for the cited combination, but peach salsa is amazingly good. We used to buy it by the case from your own home state, Chapel. Only reason we stopped was that it's so friggin' expensive. But it's easily my favorite salsa.

I'm a recent convert to the Chobani Greek Yogurt Fan Club (CGYFC) as well but we don't get the pineapple flavor here in the boondocks. cry But it is the only thing with a peach flavor that I approve of.

First I heard of fruity salsas I was very skeptical. Then my wife got hooked on a local fresh pineapple mango chipotle salsa so I tried it. Amazing! The chipotle makes it spicy enough that it really is what I would consider a salsa.

I know that Pace makes some now, but I've never tried it. I've been making my own lately. I'm waiting for the peaches in my yard to ripen to try peach.

All the fruit flavors have around 20 grams of carbs, primarily from added sugar. What helps offset that is around 15 grams of protein. So if you are watching your sugar for health reasons the protein is a great way to help slow down your insulin release. Adding some ground flax for healthy fat helps too.
In my opinion it's the best yogurt out there. Thick, rich and packed with protein.
You can always try the plain ( which is alot like sour cream ). It has zero sugar and zero fat. You can add fruit to it to sweeten it up.But fresh fruit doesn't help take away that sour taste. Great for a baked potato though !
