I am currently designing a Weimar game (1929-1933). It is moving along very well- and now would like opinions on names. the current working title is Rising Cross: German Politics 1929-1933. I thought this name would be appropriate since the German Iron Cross "rising" would foreshadow the rising of militarism, as well as the swastika ( an equilateral cross).

But how about a title that is simpler like Weimar: German Politics 1929-1933 or Weimar: The German Political Struggle 1929-1933?

Any other titles that you like? I appreciate any and all help!

Weimar:German Politics 1929-1933 is kind of dull.

Rising Cross is catchy but evokes optimism. Is that what you are looking for? I would have a sense of forboding in the title.

The Gathering Storm: Weimar Germany 1929-1933

The Decline and Fall of the Weimar Republic

Crisis and Collapse: Weimar Germany 1929-1933

I like this one!

I also think putting the word "Politics" in the title of a game is a losing proposition.

What with the lack of help from the victorious but shortsighted allies and the constant undermining by extremist forces from within how about...

'Betrayed!:the downfall of the Weimar Republic'....

This is a very good title!

Just for the sake of the question let me propose a couple of titles:

"Dem Deutsche Volke: Weimar 1929-1933"

"Lost Cause: The fall of a republic"

The Betrayal of Versailles: The Rise and Fall of the Second Reich

That would get some hairs up!

Or, to really get them excited;

Betrayal! Triumph of the Will 1929-1933

Yes, using the little-used phrase 'second reich' makes it sound a lot more...subtle

Second Reich is indeed seldom used in part because it refers to the period of the Kaisers, before the Weimar Republic was founded.

Personally, I like Triumph of the Will as a title for the subject matter.

If the Riefenstahl estate still has any claim to the title, the associated costs may be prohibitive. However, I doubt it, since there's a miniatures system that uses that title.

A Title with a subtitle; Headline Catchy, subtitle descriptive.

Been going on for years:

Squad Leader: The Game of Infantry Combat in World War II

Or

PanzerBlitz: The game of Armored Warfare on the Eastern Front 1941-1945

Or

a bazillion others - hardly new and mostly welcome.

Probably to distiguish a game from all the others on the same subject or to expand on an otherwise mundane title eg.'Commuter:the high adventure of going to work!'..
