Hi all,

In a 3 player game of Steam (full rules/USA map) yesterday, we ran out of cubes on the last two turns. This led to a rather dull ending.

I was wondering is this typical of this set up, a one off, or indeed a misplayed rule!

By the way, we set up the cubes for resupply as per the rules for 3 players (ie, each city gets three, but the resupply cubes are in pairs, not in threes).

Regards,

Genoan

When you say ran out of cubes, do you mean no cubes at all on the board or goods chart?

It's common to have very little you can do in the last couple of turns.

It's also a good idea to take advantage of building for extra links, and in the future make sure you maximize the distance the cubes you do deliver go for the best advantage; this way in the end when there is little left to do you will have at least maximized your options.

Finally: I think Steam is best with 4-5 players or perhaps more with one of the larger maps that are available.

There are several three player maps out now and a sizable number being released in the fall that should address your three player quality concerns
