I don't know if anyone noticed, but I was out all last week, and I am back!
I was getting some surgery to fix my nose (deviated septum, reduce turbinates, remove some bone).
It all went very well, unlike in 2006, the first attempt. That outpatient left me in the hospital for 4 days and the doctor there no longer practices!
It took until 2010 to find a doctor in another city who was very good. I'll leave out the string of incompetent ENTs I went through. (One's total treatment: "Oh, you're not better? Well, return in a month, pay me another $100, and I'll ask again.")
Anyway, I am back online and doing much better. I get the splints out tomorrow, but even now I am feeling much better. I am looking forward to finally being able to breath at night!
Thanks for all the best wishes. They are MUCH appreciated!
Yes, it was just my nose. I look pretty normal now.
That, and my panic stricken wife. After the 2006, unexpectedly nearly died in the hospital after a simple outpatient, she was not a happy camper going into planning this one. Thankfully it all has gone smoothly and she is feeling much more safe!
