What is your opinion for use 3d6 (the lowest and the highest) in shoting?

The result is near to 6,7,8 and 9.

You make it much harder to get rolls of 10,11 & 12... which means that some units, which could hit certain targets using the normal rules, will have almost no chance of doing so when rolling 3 dice.

Same is true the other way... certain shots that might miss on a 2,3, or 4 will almost always hit... since it is much less likely to roll 1,1,1 than it is to roll 1,1.

If your goal is to smooth out the curve, and make lucky shots less likely, then fine... but whole battles have turned on a 'lucky shot'.

Fifgting with 3d6 works fine for me. The game becomes more realistic without losing some of its excitement.The chance to score a 10 or higher is still about 10 %.

Have Somebody got a chart or table witch statistics for 3d6 (the lowest and highest)? and for 4d6?

I have the staistics for the 3d6:
The chance to get a 12 is 0,5%
The chance to get a 11 or higher is 3,3%
The chance to get a 10 or higher is 9,3%
The chance to get a 9 or higher is 20,4%
The chance to get a 8 or higher is 37,5%
The chance to get a 7 or higher is 62,5%
The chance to get a 6 or higher is 79,6%
The chance to get a 5 or higher is 90,7%
The chance to get a 4 or higher is 96,7%
The chance to get a 3 or higher is 99,5%
The chance to get a 2 or higher is 100,0% whistle

9.3% vs 16.7%? That isn't "about the same" that is "about half as likely". 3d6 just makes everything live longer.

Right. But the point is, that this 3d6 "variant" shall not be the same.

I think you 2 feel fine with 2d6. So there´s no reason to change something.

A lot of tank commanders got their hair "cut" in this manner, since they often used open copulas earlier in the war.

Ok, that´s for sure - I didn´t think of that. whistle
Much less the bullet destroying the engine block and immobilizing the panzer.

But to be serious: it´s no criticism that e.g. a sniper can hit a panzer by luck. With 3d6 it just works less often.
