I recently had the idea of a two-player board game that puts the opponents at odds, with one being a criminal/gangster and one being a police officer/detective trying to bring him down. Are there any games somewhat similar to this? Any enforcer vs criminal game? Or what about just a general police board game?

Gangsters, though the players are competing mobs, and the Police are moved by all the players to mess with the other gangs.

Search for Police or Cops in the search bar and you'll see a lot of older ones that seem to have this theme.

I saw this thread and immediately thought of The Sweeney board game made by Omnia in the 1970s. It had a good little zero-sum system, where if a criminal set up a crime, a police player could undo it and vice versa.

The General had a series of scenarios for Firepower that pitted gangsters against the police or federal agents. I believe the title of the article was "It Was a Great Depression, Wasn't It?" or something close. The Ma Barker gang was included, as was Elliot Ness and his Untouchables. Civilian markers were also included as obstacles for both sides.
