Subject: What are the differences between Chivalry(1888) and Camelot(1930)? rss

WP (Wikipedia) says "The game (reduced in size and number of pieces and reissued as Camelot in 1930)..."

And perhaps the granting of a 1930 patent suggests something central is different? (This indication would depend on whether the current "1 year rule" for patent applications was in force in 1930.)

IF WP is accurate on this then what did Chivalry look like?

Physical differences.

Chivalry (1888); main board 14X14(=196), each corner has 6 squares deleted (= 172) (+ 2X2 "gold-starred" goal squares = 176), half Board row count 2,8,10,12,14,14,14,14
Each player has 12 MEN and 8 KNIGHTS = 20 =8.8 squares/pawn



Camelot (1930); main board 12X14(=168), each corner has 3 squares deleted (= 156) (+ 2X2 "Castle" goal squares = 160), half Board row count 2,8,10,12,12,12,12,12
Each player has 10 MEN and 4 KNIGHTS = 14 =11.4 squares/pawn


Rules differences are given in the table "CAMELOT RULES EVOLUTION" that Sphere cites above.
