Anyone else here into marble runs? I had a Spacewarp set from the early 90's that was ridiculously hard to put together, and am getting a Magnext ICoaster tomorrow. Gravity + marbles is a surprisingly satisfying distraction for me.. anyone else?
My son has a set of wooden blocks with chutes and holes and such. He's finally gotten to an age where he can actually build stuff with it and has figured out how to get it to start a domino drop as well.
Very cool stuff.
This guy is really into marbles and has built some great stuff.
I think that all right-thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary, decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am.
A couple of years ago my wife and I decided that Santa would bring a Marble Run set to our son for Christmas. We found one in a "retro" catalog but thought the price was outrageous. We kinda gave up on the idea, then I ran across a set in the American Science & Surplus catalog. In fact, it was so much cheaper there, we ordered two sets from AS&S, and even after adding the shipping and a good-sized tub from Hobby Lobby to keep them in, we still saved about 40% (IIRC) over the cost from the retro catalog.
Unfortunately, Iain doesn't always put the parts back in their assigned tub, so a few bits have gotten stepped on and crushed. But he still gets it out every so often and builds a tall run using the extra pieces.
