Isn't steampunk pushing daisies already?

Oh here's a novel idea, lets do Zombie Star Wars....NO wait, even better, Bacon Star Wars. Lets go even further back into time and make a Star Wars breaking movie, we'll call it Star Wars II: Electric Booglaoo.

Product description from Amazon:

When the Imperial prison barge Purge–temporary home to five hundred of the galaxy’s most ruthless killers, rebels, scoundrels, and thieves–breaks down in a distant, uninhabited part of space, its only hope appears to lie with a Star Destroyer found drifting, derelict, and seemingly abandoned. But when a boarding party from the Purge is sent to scavenge for parts, only half of them come back–bringing with them a horrific disease so lethal that within hours nearly all aboard the Purge die in ways too hideous to imagine.

And death is only the beginning.

The Purge’s half-dozen survivors–two teenage brothers, a sadistic captain of the guards, a couple of rogue smugglers, and the chief medical officer, the lone woman on board–will do whatever it takes to stay alive. But nothing can prepare them for what lies waiting aboard the Star Destroyer amid its vast creaking emptiness that isn’t really empty at all. For the dead are rising: soulless, unstoppable, and unspeakably hungry.

Actually I did a zombie Star Wars adventure. It featured a vampiric style Sith lord Darth Muerte who could animate the dead. Not very original but it turned out pretty well actually.

Yeah, I heard a lot about Steampunk too...in 2006. And I heard a lot about Starwars Steampunk...in 2007. And was mildly amused with Steampunk Starwars action figures...in 2008.

It's 2010...bacon*YAWN*

I don't get this kind of stuff at all. If you like zombie stuff, then go read a Resident Evil novelization or something.

"But, I like Zombie stuff and Star Wars stuff. I wonder what you'd get if you combined Zombies with Star Wars."

Answer--not Star Wars.

That's is also the answer when you replace "Zombie" with "Steampunk".....God I hate fandom.

To go fully OT, does anyone else think Zombies are stupid? I mean, they are a cute vaguely-scifi/mostly horror idea good for a movie or two, but as a whole sub-genre? C'mon. They are nothing but a slow dumb hoard. Okay so there is the inevitable march of doom thing going on there, but how many times can that be mined for a story--twice?

Meh. just for you chapel

Maybe I don't know where the line between "Steampunk" and "old fashioned" is, though, but the original pics didn't really strike me as Steampunk-esque; just, as the title of the thread says, a "Dapper Chewie".

Those Action Figures that Chapel points to definitely DO have the "Steampunk" look (as does the artwork), but the paintings above look like Star Wars style just with old-fashioned clothing. (IE, Darth Vader, C-3PO, and Boba Fett's armor still looks like it's supposed to, rather than the Steampunk-ized versions in Chapel's links).
