Those two games have almost nothing to do with each other. Both have trading, to be sure, but in Genoa, everything is traded. You can hardly get anything in Genoa without paying someone else for it. (Once on each of your turns you can do it - everything you have to pay someone else for.) They seem quite different to me.

It's not. If your group enjoys trading and negotiation then Genoa is a great game.

The trading and negotiation are similar. Genoa is heavier and longer, but it is a great game, especially if you find yourself with 5 a lot.
