I have almost no information, but apparently there is a new game coming from Francis Tresham. As reported on an 18xx discussion group:

Francis Tresham will be at Leisure Games in Finchley on Bank Holiday Monday, unveiling for the first time his new upcoming game "Judge in Circuit".

I Kevin. You're right I saw the prototype at UK Games Expo yesterday. It seems a lot more light hearted than most of Francis' other games, the idea of the game being that you are a crook (American English: criminal) and you have to spend more time in more prisons than the other crooks!

Francis said that a few last minute changes had stopped the release being the UK Games Expo, but he wasn't entirely certain when it would be out.

Thanks for the reply. It seems likely that this is not destined to be a classic like Civilization or 1829/30. But any new game from Mr. Tresham immediately rises up to the level of "Need to try" for me.

I didn't especially love 1853, Revolution, or Spanish Main; but all of these games were worthy. And while 1829 Mainline has been not especially well received, I am a fan.

So I will buy "Judge in Circuit" as soon as I can!

I'm reasonably sure that it should be "Judge *on* circuit". Although of course the meddling Government/civil service formally did away with the circuits a few years ago (not that the term is likely to die any time soon).

Per the photo it appears to be "The Judge in Circuit".

But whatever the title, I am intrigued!

You're right that the game's title is "The Judge in Circuit". My point is that the term is nonsensical, Judges don't sit *in* a circuit but *on* it.

"Who's the meanest git on the circuit?" is a question I can answer (rather too easily, as it happens). "Who's the meanest git in the circuit?" has me looking for loops of wire, batteries and maybe a light bulb.

As a topic for a game it's not one that rings my personal bell, but YMMV.
