I saw a HoTS game for $28. It was version 1. Is there any significant differences from version 1, 2 or 3 that would make it worth while to have the most recent version of the game.

Thanks

I also have version 1. From what I remember, they re-did the map and card artwork, but I'm not aware of any other differences.

A few unit stats were changed, I believe (increased movement values, e.g.).

I must think over my position and how I may improve it.

There are some errata. The newest version has a nicer map. $28 sounds like a steal, and this is really just an awesome game to have.

Neither edition will make you whistle, but the game isn't about presentation. Hence owning any copy is better than owning no copy

Just make sure to get the latest rules from Columbia website and you'll be fine.

Version 1 is fine.
Version 2 had nicer cards than version 1.
Version 3 had nicer cards again, and a redone map that's gorgeous.

Thanks for all the responses. Sounds like I would be happy with any of the versions.
