Subject: Installing Board Game Extensions in Inkscape (on a Mac) rss

So I downloaded the nifty Board Game Extension tools for Inkscape, but I am having trouble extracting these files so they show up in my Extensions drop down menu.

I have used Inkscape before, and have some knowledge with the application, but I have never installed an extension before, so I am having some trouble.

I tried watching this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ__PwMZp_8, but it didn't help much. I have a Macbook, and it runs OSX Leopard (10.5.8). I tried using the Automater application to try and extract the files, but that didn't seem to work either. (*I am not familiar with Automater, and it could be that I am not doing something right)

I have some computer knowledge, but I am completely illiterate when it comes to scripting and coding. But it seems my problem is I don't know how to access a directory like the one mentioned in the video (home/.config/inkscape/extensions). Do I do this in Automater, or can I do it in the Finder application? If so, I certainly don't know how.

I have Googled this topic extensively, and I've sifted through over 10 pages of threads on this Forum, but have had no luck.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

It's not immediately obvious, but it's not too tricky once you know where to look. I know you've probably got the files already. I'll link them here as well in case anyone else has the same problems.

1 Download and install Inkscape from http://inkscape.org/download/
2 Grab the latest version of the extensions from http://www.lysator.liu.se/~perni/iboardgameexts/
3 Right click (or control-click if you haven't configured the mouse) on the application icon and you'll see the following contextual menu:

...select Show Package Contents.
4 Go to Contents then to Resources where you'll see the extensions folder.

This is where you'll copy the extensions files -- I usually colour these with a label so I can easily identify them later.
4 Send some in the direction of
