Of course not!
Take the quiz and post your result.
Note to Patrick: I know yours, it's in your profile.
If this has been done before, my abject apologies!

I'm an INTP.
Okay, I was wrong. There is a typical personality trait, We're all wiseguys.

Personality, not so much, but from the days of Avalon Hill's first advertising it has been clear that you needed to be at least "smart."

INTJ - but that was off several workplace tests ... I'd treat all such tests with the contempt psychology deserves though, I don't discriminate.

I've been playing wargames since the late 70s and I've played with an extreme variety of people. The only thing they have had in common is they're bright people.

Guilty as charged. I am one of those people who give unsolicited seemingly random history lessons, particularly during historical movies on the correct type of armors, weapons, and so on...devil

Yes Jae,I'm sorry to say that in this country you (like me) would be cruelly dismissed by the ignorant ingrate lower orders as a brainiac, egghead or,worst of all,a smart arse...

Yep, I've gotta go with pedantic as well. I tried to make my inner pedant work for me; I became a university professor. Now I'm twice as annoying. shake

In all honesty though, I've been wargaming since 1970 and have found the majority of wargamers to be some of the sharpest minds around. I've found most of them to be good losers/winners who simply enjoy the gaming and the challenges present. Nothing like playing "what ifs..." to get your blood boiling... laugh

When it is your turn to send a VASSAL move, the wait is excruciating. When it's my turn, well, I've been busy.

ENTP. Which I believe is uncommon for a gamer. But it does indicate some things about my gaming nature:

E - (extrovert over introvert) I GREATLY prefer FTF gaming as opposed to computer gaming. The social aspect is an important element to me. That said, I would rather solo an interesting game than play a puerile game for the sake of company (see "T" below)

N - (intuitive over senser) The "idea" of a game drives me more than the tactile experience of playing it. This is one reason I don't like monster games. I would rather have "people" to carry out the detailed tasks while I concentrate on grand strategy, production, politics. Hence the reason why grand strategic games are my favourites.

T - (thinker over feeler) I much don't care who wins, and am very difficult to offend. I am primarily interested in seeing how the game's algorithm deals with the cascading series of inputs from both sides and their outcomes reflect the historical boundary conditions. The decisions and what they result in is what is interesting. Watching history unfold as it might have.

P - (perceiver over judger) I am perfectly content with small rules ambiguities. I do not agonize over the precise wording in a wargame rulebook to find a definitive answer where none may exist; rather, I try to intuit the overall thrust of the design and interpolate accordingly.

# moderately expressed extrovert
# distinctively expressed intuitive personality
# slightly expressed feeling personality
# slightly expressed judging personality

I used to be more extroverted, but I'm becoming more of a homebody in my old age, at least for short stretches

When I followed the link it took me to a page that asked for a fee of $5 and my credit card details. I got a bit suspicious.

That sucks! If I may give you a quick personality profile; It appears you are a VSSP (Very Smart Scottish Person). Play "Blue Bonnets Over The Border" here.
