Got a quick question about the boxes next to the games in the want list? What are these for and how to use them?

I am wondering this too. I think it is to rank how much I want it, but is a low score equal to a great want or a low want? Is 1 the best or the worst?

I noticed something in the Duplicate Protection video...

Before installing Duplicate Protection, you had one copy of Antike for which you were willing to trade any of three of your games. But you had another copy of Antike listed for which you were willing to trade only two of your games. (Perhaps that copy wasn't in as pristine a condition as the first copy.)

But when you set up the Duplicate Protection, you chose all three games for which you would trade to get Antike. Does this mean that you can either 1) be specific over what you're willing to trade but risk getting multiple copies, or 2) you can set up duplicate protection but you have to allow for trading the same games in your collection for any of the copies listed, even if you'd like to be more discriminating?

Seems like an unfortunate limitation in the system, especially if there are multiple copies of games you'd like to get, but in widely varying conditions.

Created one myself discussed here:

Math Trades and You! Making OLWLG Selections The Easy Way!

Many people are going through the full list to select their items... this tip shows a much easier way to process even large math trades and make sure you find the items you want.

thank you for these tutorials. These were really clear and concise and not knocking Rhado's but straight to the point, shorter and without any rambling. Great stuff. Hopefully my first attempt at entering a Math Trade at the UK expo, will be a success because of these.
thanks so much.

And people if you agree, don't just thumb, get your hand in your virtual pocket and tip the guy if you can

Quick Question; how can I enter my username in olwlg with a space? For example my username is:

Matthias Koster

I've entered my username in roughly 10 different fashions and have yet to receive a confirmation Geekmail.

Thanks!

I also made a video on Math Trades!

Mine's meant to be very fast, just blast through the steps and give the fastest overview I could in video form. Also for sharing purposes on Reddit to help people get involved. Definitely room for both approaches here!

Normally you'd add the item as Outside the Scope of BGG or Miscellaneous Game Accessory.

Then inside the description you'd add a special alt name tag that the OLWLG will use to display the "new" name.

+altname+ Really cool dice tower -altname-
+altname+ Card sleeves collection -altname-

etc...

the heading/index for this is "Alternative Name for non-game items (altname)"
