What are the differences between Freebooter's Fate and Ron & Bones? Both seem to be Fantasy themed which is a plus for me. Are there any other good ones to consider?

I notice these are both miniatures games. Is that a plus or a minus for you?

oh...yeah. I'll edit the title. Yes, I am looking for a miniature game.

Haven't looked into the former, but Ron & Bones seem to be very large (too large to mesh with my other 25-28mm minis). One review mentioned that the smallest model they had measured 30mm and the largest 52mm. They look great though.

I shall recommend Pirates! by Flagship Games. It uses ordinary 25-30mm figures and there are excellent resin-cast ships available. If cost is an issue, ships can be readily made from cardboard, and the game does not suffer a bit!

You may inspect the current line at their site:

Hiya. Freebooter's Fate is a true tabletop game with free movement and all that whereas Ron&Bones is more of a board game with miniatures which is played on scenario dependent, square-based boards.

This site has a link to the Ron&Bones rules, whereas Freebooter have put up a battle report on their site which should give you a good overview of what the two games are like.
