Some people think the addition of zombies to any game instantly makes it better.

I'm not of that school.

I couldn't agree more. The game Zombies!!! is a case in point. It clearly has had zombies added to it early in its creation, and yet it ranks as one of the dullest, most pointless wastes of time it is possible to undertake. It is obviously impossible that Zombies!!! without any zombies in it could be worse than the game in its present form; so by definition the addition of zombies has not made it better.

I actually have a house rule for Zombies!!!, where all players roll a D6 at the start of the game, with ties being immediately re-rolled. The roller of the highest die is immediately declared the winner, and the components of the game are put away again.

I find that this has the same net effect as playing by the 'official' rules which come with the game, and frees a couple of hours to do something which relieves, rather than exacerbates, ennui.

Although i alluded to it i am not a big fan of the "Everything better with Zombies" approach too.I just thought that a tounge-in-cheek take on CC:E (or any "serious" wargame ) would be intriguing

On the other hand, CC would be vastly improved if it had zombies in tanks.

Point well taken. I guess I'm just a purist. Or a snob.

I did see a Conflict of Heroes scenario designed by Uwe himself which had zombies in it set in a foggy Russian forest.

I will try and find a link for it, failing that I will send a gm to Uwe, it is getting late here so will make a note of it to do tomorrow.
