The game itself isn't important. Spending time intellectually jousting with likeminded folks is the real reason to game.

A general question: what one game would you most like to see an expansion (or a new expansion) for? Why?

My vote's for Tobago. Three more board tiles would just add a truckload of additional replayability to the game, and there are lots of little additions that would just add to the fun of the game.

Your pick?

Another vote for: Tobago

Also a big expansion for Stone Age would be very welcome.

I'm torn bewteen Android and Middle Earth Quest. I guess MEQ, it really NEEDS an expansion.

Another vote for a stone age expansion

Also, Homesteaders too. In fact, I'm suprised that nobody has created some new fan-created buildings for homesteaders yet. This would be a natural as there are about 4 blank building tiles that come with the game. Print them to a sheet of sticky paper, cut them out and you've got some some new buildings!

I'm typically pretty anti-expansion. I think they generally increase cost and set-up/break-down time without adding value to the game.

If I had to pick one I'd go with Stone Age. Some new mechanic that takes some of the randomness out of the dice would be good. Like they did with Kingburg.

Pizza Box Baseball. It's at the point where I've played it enough to want a little variety to spice it up.

The other games I play the most generally either already have sufficient expansions (Pandemic, Dominion, Agricola, San Juan) or so minimalist that expansions would be against the point (No Thanks!, Unnamed Object, Pickomino, Can't Stop).

I see a trend happening here...

My vote would, without a shadow of a doubt, with STONE AGE!

Are you listening HiG/Rio Grande?

Holy crap, I OWN Stone Age! I didn't know that!

So why does it so badly need an expansion anyway?

It does not require an expansion because it's broken... far from it. It requires an expansion because it is so good. There are times when we'd like to break it out with more than 4 players.

Dominion, so I can laugh at the shear number of folks who jump right on it

Honestly, I'm not much of an expansion hoar. Some are nice, but I generally don't feel much need for them.
