I typed this all up using the card images on http://www.blue-moon-games.com/us/index.html
Some of the cards were hard to read, but I think this is all pretty much correct. I couldn't read a word on Pillar #2 and I'm not sure "eleophtians" is the correct spelling on Tutu 503 and 507. Other than that it should all be good. Of course, there are holes that won't be filled until October or November, but I thought I'd post it now for anyone who wants to read all of the cards in order. I'll update it as new decks are released.

So, here it is...the story of Blue Moon City and it's peoples...

The catastrophic Night of Doom plunged the vibrant Blue Moon City and its many peoples into the Dark Age. The Golden Dragon had fallen and Blue Moon, the creator of all things, is gone. The old King is dead; Blue Moon City has been destroyed; and the Holy Crystal of Psi is shattered into a myriad of small crystals. The three elemental dragons, the only divine creatures remaining in the world, now guard the broken crystals in wait for a new ruler to come.
The two royal heirs, Prince Roland and Princess Elinor, each blame the other for killing the Golden Dragon and bringing disaster to the world. Both claim their right to the throne, and the once united peoples do not know whom to follow. The crown will be decided in battle.
You are taking the side of one of the royal heirs, rallying the peoples and their leaders around you to pursue the claim to the throne. If you are victorious, the three elemental dragons will reward you with crystals. When you can make the Holy Crystal whole again, you will be crowned and become the new ruler. Then the peoples will be united, Blue Moon City will be rebuilt and – hopefully – Blue Moon will return to the world.

Vulca:
00: The Vulca will wield their mighty magic to bring peace to the world. We will establish a true Kingdom of Fire.
01: The Vulca are the masters of fire, the magical force granted to us from Blue Moon. We keep his flame burning.
02: What the earth cannot engulf, the fire will consume.
03: The Golden Dragon and the King used to guide us. Now we must follow the lead of the flame to peace and harmony.
04: After the Night of Doom the peoples should have quickly proclaimed a new ruler. Instead they quarreled and plunged our world into chaos.
05: As keepers of the Fire Temple, we used to help the people with our magic spells. Now they must learn to fear the fire!
06: When the Crystal of Psi is whole again, harmony will spread once more among the peoples. Then Blue Moon will return to our world.
07: He who holds the Crystal rules the world.
08: The Hoax always ponder and hesitate. They never get anything done. Fire burns hotter than thought!
09: Just because the Hoax used to record our history does not give them the right to determine our future!
10: Before the fall of Blue Moon City, it was a Vulca’s greatest honor to become a Chosen One and serve Lika in the Fire Temple.
11: Before the Dark Age, the Fire Dragon used to teach our Chosen Ones the high art of fiery magic.
12: We used to practice our magic in the northern volcanic caves which reached deep and hot under Blue Moon City.
13: We used to worship Blue Moon with nightly torch-lit processions through Blue Moon City. Yet now the world is dark and hostile.
14: Those who do not fear the fire will learn to fear the pain.
15: There is fire at the end of the tunnel!
16: Fire must be fought with fire.
17:
18: We call on the fire to enhance our powers.
19: Pure fire reduces the earth to ash.
20: Of all the peoples, the Vulca were closest to Lika, the Fire Dragon.
21: Strong magic is like fire – you must tend it to make it blaze.
22: If you must get your hands dirty, make it count.
23: The magic of the fire will support our cause.
24: The mind is drawn to the magic, like a moth to the flame.
25: If you cannot stand the heat…
26: Vulca proverb: “He who hesitates is lost.”
27: With the Fire Temple destroyed, communication with Lika ceased. It now takes greater powers to attract his attention.
28: As long as there is fire, there is hope.
29: The three elemental Dragons guard the shattered Crystal. Our actions must attract them to our side.
30: Those who blow in the fire should expect sparks in their eyes.
31: On our sacred Moondays, the excitement in Blue Moon City had built up like a volcano ready to explode.
32: A wise leader knows when to heed an advisor and when to cast him into the flame.

Hoax:
00: The Hoax will employ their insight, knowledge and ingenious tricks to triumph over the ignorant. Wisdom must prevail.
01: Blue Moon entrusted us, the Hoax, weak in body but agile of mind, to record and relate his true history. We keep his wisdom alive.
02: A true ruler must be found to build Blue Moon’s kingdom of the future. Only then will peace and harmony return to our world.
03: Without a King, many leaders emerged amongst the peoples to organize the fighting in support of their favored royal heir.
04: Crowds used to gather in Blue Moon City’s courtyard to hear our stories. It is the curse of the Dark Age that now no one listens.
05: ‘The fiery Vulca act rather than think’. How can they understand if they never take the time to contemplate?
06: The succession to the late King called for a ceremonial contest between the two royal heirs, represented by their two animals, the lion and the bear.
07: Tragedy struck the succession contest when Prince Roland and Princess Elinor misused the divine gift of Psi to spur on their fighting animals.
08: The clashing powers of Psi transformed the battling royal animals into two terrifying mutants – a bear with a lion’s head, and a lion with a bear’s head.
09: We used to wander the southern hills in search of inspiration and peaceful reflection. Now that enemies are everywhere, where can we go?
10: When the Golden Dragon fell, the Holy Crystal of Psi was shattered, and a terrible earthquake destroyed Blue Moon City. It was the Night of Doom.
11: Both claiming victory in the succession contest, the royal heirs angrily threw their spears at each other, accidentally bringing down the Golden Dragon.
12: As keepers of the city records, we used to help anyone who came to the Blue Moon Library. Now everything is destroyed and knowledge is used for harm.
13: To restore Blue Moon’s kingdom, one must understand the errors of the past. We must pause and reflect.
14: Without the Crystal of Psi, both royal heirs blamed each other for the Night of Doom. They became embittered enemies in their fight for the throne.
15: All peoples have a part to play in restoring peace and harmony, but few see the way.
16:
17: On the Night of Doom, Blue Moon turned away and the Dark Age began. The peoples became torn by conflict – fighting for either the Prince or the Princess.
18: Mastery of earth snuffs the flame.
19: In your situation, and without wishing to beat about the bush in any way, shape, or form, it may well be advisable to DUCK!
20: Before the Dark Age, Blue Moon used to send his messenger, Ordrac the Golden Dragon, to bring enlightenment and wisdom to the King of the peoples.
21: A terrific tale delivers a substantial payload.
22: A sharp metaphor pierces the heart of the sceptic.
23: A neat twist of story knocks the listener off his feet.
24: A successful saga strikes home with its audience.
25: An epic drama has a message for everyone.
26: A cunning plot captures the mind.
27: Hoax proverb: “He who does not search, cannot find.”
28: There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action.
29: Some are wise. Some are otherwise.
30: Following the royal tradition, when the Queen heard the Call of Psi, she prepared for the sacred journey to receive the two new heirs.
31:
32: The late King was misguided when trying to choose between the royal heirs. Continuing on this path will make things worse.

Mimix:
00: The Mimix’ invincible bond of sisterhood lights the path for all peoples to find inner harmony. We must rediscover Blue Moon.
01: We remember the King withdrawing into himself, mourning the loss of his consort, just as a Mimix would mourn for her sister.
02:
03: When the Holy Spring began to flow across the earth, rivers sprang up from the mountains and the earth became fertile and soft.
04: When the Holy Spring began to flow across the earth, the water boiled and rose in misty clouds causing rain which tamed the fire.
05: Blue Moon created a spectrum of peoples, each different and unique, but together forming a balanced whole.
06: Blue Moon shone his light through the Holy Crystal, and the light split into a myriad of colors. Where the light fell, the peoples were born.
07: There was no beginning. Blue Moon sailed through eternity and shone throughout the void.
08: Blue Moon made the Holy Crystal and created space and time around it.
09: Blue Moon forged gold, the matter of perfect balance and harmony, and dusted the universe with golden stars.
10: Blue Moon took a golden star and squeezed it tight. The gold was split into three elements – earth and fire and water.
11: Blue Moon made the world from fire and earth in opposition and set it in the Ocean of Eternity.
12: When the world was new, earth battled with fire. Great mountains roared, spitting lava and smoke. The Holy Spring calmed the world.
13: Blue Moon gave us life. Earth forms our body and is the source of our physical strength.
14: Blue Moon gave us spirit. Fire illuminates our heart and is the source of our magic powers.
15: Blue Moon gave us wisdom. Water raises us above our inner struggles and frees our thinking.
16: Like the world, Blue Moon made the peoples from the opposites of fire and earth, firm and strong.
17: The Flit never stand their ground. Fear gives them wings.
18: In the old days, the Mimix used to dedicate their lives to Blue Moon, to prepare for the eternal hunting-grounds.
19: In the old days, the Mimix used to follow their silent shadows, letting the light of Blue Moon guide them to their true destiny.
20: In the old days, the Mimix used to hunt fearlessly in the eastern woods to live as one with nature.
21: In the old days, the Mimix used to ride proudly over the eastern plains to bond with the spirits of their ancestors.
22: If you run too swiftly, you will catch up with misfortune.
23: If you amble slowly, misfortune will catch up with you.
24: Look before you leap.
25: A good woman of the bow is known by her arrow, not by her aim.
26: The best place to bury your hatchet is in your opponent.
27: We defend nature and nature defends us.
28: Only the forces of nature will prevail.
29: The forces of nature will stand our ground.
30: Mimix proverb: “She who seeks her sister finds balance in fire and earth.”
31: There are no bounds to the bonds of sisterhood.
32: The royal heirs have no bonds either with one another or with us. We must find a new beginning.

Flit:
00: Flit fly. Again and again. Delivering devastation from above. The High Kingdom will come!
01: Blue Moon gave wings. To dragons and Flit. Not to groundlings. Point made.
02: Flit command the skies. Sharp eyes see all. Groundlings beware!
03: Flit are swift. In and out. Hit after hit. Groundlings take guard!
04: Flit fly over Blue Moon City. Three Temples. Three Dragons! Lost friends.
05: Flit fly over Blue Moon City. Palace. King. Golden Dragon. All gone.
06: Flit fly high. Mimix hide in fear. Shame!
07: Flit fly west. Marsh and swamps. Ocean of Eternal Peace. Revelation.
08: Flit fly north. Volcanoes. Mountains of Infinite Height. Peace.
09: Flit fly south. Fields and hills. Jungle of Abundant Life. Contentment.
10: Flit fly east. Woods and plains. Desert of Morning Light. Inspiration.
11: Fly fast. Fly straight. Banzzaaaiiiii…
12: Dive low. climb high. Goodbye!
13: Soar high. Swoop low. Go!
14: Take wing. Shun earth. Be free!
15: Message from Ordrac: “Be enlightened!”
16: Remember Lika. Run or burn!
17: Remember Doran. Life eats life!
18: Ooh!
19: Bubble and squeak!
20:
21: King and Queen. No more!
22: Ahh!
23: Rocks away!
24: Fire fire!
25: Slop slime!
26: Bugs off!
27: Flit gone. Dragon gone!
28:
29: Flit proverb: “Dragon and Flit. Perfect fit!”
30: Flit of a feather. Flock together!
31: Flit fly. Groundlings duck!
32: Fly free!

Khind:
00: Khind fight in gangs. One for all, all for one, for a Khinder world.
01: Remember when you grew up in Blue Moon City? A catapult was all you needed to decide a fight. Come on then, if you think you can!
02: Remember those wooden swords you battled with as a child under the feet of the Vulca during their weird processions? En Garde!
03: Remember playing whips and tops as a youngster behind the crowds while the Hoax used to tell their endless stories? Bet you can’t win today!
04: Remember when you were a kid teasing the dragons with pea-shooters? Bet you can’t handle one now!
05: Khind rarely come alone.
06: Don’t take a Khind for a fool.
07: Sometimes you have to be cruel to be Khind.
08: Take from the rich and give to the Khind.
09: The Khind will always have the last laugh.
10: Whatever happens, let’s have fun! The future is ours anyway.
11: A scrap a day keeps the boredom away.
12: How do you scare a Flit? Make him face a mirror.
13: An Aqua in the net is better than two in the sea.
14: Khind like it hot!
15: Khind are clever! No one ever took us seriously in Blue Moon City. We might have been invisible, but we saw it all!
16: Khind are canny! We carried the Terrah’s daily offerings to the Earth Temple. Then we ate the previous offerings. Yum!
17: Khind are bright! We always watched the King wander over to the Golden Dragon’s quarters in the Royal Palace to ask for advice.
18: Khind are everywhere! We saw how two small bundles were left at opposite gates of the Palace when the King adopted the Prince and the Princess.
19: Mimix come in pairs. Khind come in gangs.
20: Khind are sneaky! We climbed up the obelisk at midnight to peek into the spooky reflections of the Holy Crystal as Blue Moon’s light blessed it.
21: Khind are smart! We saw the secret side of the Pillar in the Holy Temples, sharing their chrys and exchanging secrets with the Chosen Ones.
22: Khind are brave! We sneaked up to the sleeping dragons and tickled their noses. Lika sneezed fire, Doran blew dust, and Sesha coughed steam.
23: Remember the joyful vibes in Blue Moon City when the Queen left on her sacred journey? Way cool!
24:
25: Now you’ve put your foot in it!
26: Wherever you turn, there is a Khind waiting.
27: Remember in your early days, laughing so much you couldn’t move? Try this!
28: There are only two kinds of people in the world: the Khind and the unkind.
29: A Khind’s best friend is a Khind.
30: Khind proverb: “Everyone is lucky. Some just have more bad luck than good.”
31: We will be back!
32:

Terrah:
00: The Terrah will flex their superior strength to subdue the enemies of the earth. The natural world will triumph!
01: With our incredible strength and disciplined training, we are well prepared to defend Blue Moon’s earthly kingdom.
02: The Terrah are nurturers of the fertile earth. We tend it with care to receive the gifts of Blue Moon.
03: In the quiet seasons, we used to maintain and expand the structures of Blue Moon City. We must rebuild the city for Blue Moon to return.
04: Even the royal heirs cannot force nature. The weeds must be removed first, before good things can grow.
05: Blue Moon gave the Holy Crystal and the power of Psi to the world so the King could nurture peace and harmony amongst his peoples.
06: In the early days, we constructed the courtyard as the centerpiece of the city. It fronted the Royal Palace and was surrounded by the Holy Temples.
07: The Royal Palace was sited in the east, closest to the rising Blue Moon. Our best craftsmen built the quarters for the Golden Dragon and the King.
08: In Blue Moon City our Chosen Ones used to worship Doran the Earth Dragon and care for the Holy Tree of Life in the Earth Temple.
09: The obelisk of the Holy Crystal towered over the center of the courtyard. Every night Blue Moon shone through the Crystal, blessing the people.
10: The temple for Sesha the Water Dragon stood over the Holy Spring in the west. It separated the Fire Temple in the north and the Earth Temple in the south.
11: The Holy Spring dried up on the Night of Doom, leaving the Holy Tree of Life barren and twisted. Doran took flight from the devastation.
12: Blue Moon City was not built in one day.
13: Before the Dark Age, we cultivated the fertile southern fields and reaped rich harvests to feed Blue Moon City. Now we struggle to just feed ourselves.
14: With the Holy Temples in ruins, our rapport with the elemental dragons ebbed away. It now takes great strength to attract their attention.
15: The Earth Dragon used to teach our Chosen Ones the secrets of commanding the forces of nature. Now we awaken quakes and storms to fight our enemies.
16: Adversity is the source of strength.
17: Every Moonday, we used to visit the Earth Temple. The lively crowds in the courtyard were a fine contrast to our quiet fields. No more!
18: We invoke the earth to enhance our powers.
19: When you are an anvil, be patient; when you are a hammer, strike.
20: The strength of the earth will support our cause.
21: Deafen the ear and burn the flesh!
22: Blind the eye and freeze the blood!
23: Clog the mouth and flay the skin!
24:
25: Terrah proverb: “All men are mortal.”
26: There is nothing to fear but fear itself.
27: You harvest where you sow.
28: We still remember the shock in Blue Moon City when the Queen did not return from her sacred journey.
29: He who goes unpunished never learns. Never fear, we will teach you!
30: Blue Moon sells us all things at the price of labor.
31:
32:

Pillar:
00: Pillars ride again. Potions make us strong. The inevitable must be done.
01: Pillars travel far, know much, and keep their counsel. For all other peoples that inhabit our land, the opposite is true.
02: If you need to fight, get it over with before ? consumes the world.
03: Confidence is what people have before they see the full picture.
04: When the time comes, a caterpillar must leave. But to a good master, a butterfly may return.
05: A Pillar might happily sell his grandmother, but he would die before revealing his trade routes.
06: There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.
07: The farther you ride, the better the trade, the more potent the potion.
08: Some bring happiness wherever they go; others do so whenever they go.
09: You cannot be caught in a place you never go to.
10: Pillar proverb: “He who does not understand your silence will not understand your words.”
11: When the chrys is flowing, many friends can be made.
12: He who cuts his own wood warms himself twice.
13: There is no such thing as a free ride.
14: Stick to your job until one of you is finished.
15: It’s what you do when you have nothing to do that reveals who you are.
16: Shhhh, betwixt us. Above and beyond high mountains, master sups chrys with learned Hyla during long darkness.
17: Shhhh, betwixt us. Deep, deep in forest of rain, master encounters small Tutu hunters of great long-nosed beasts.
18: Shhhh, betwixt us. Where land meets water, master awaits Buka of winged boats from far floating lands.
19: Shhhh, betwixt us. At desert end where sun is made, master meets rich Phar of long river with high triangle stones.
20:
21: Fear of the future is a waste of the present!
22: When you come to a fork in the road, take it.
23: You cannot judge another person until you have walked in his shoes.
24: If a man carries his own lantern, he need not fear darkness.
25: On the day of victory, all men feel mighty.
26: A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first steps.
27: Let no man think he can escape his fate.
28: Every night the sun comes to rest in the Ocean of Eternal Peace.
29: Every day the sun is born in the Desert of Morning Light.
30: The truth will set you free, but first it will make you mad.
31: Before our time, the returning consort always gave up one of the two bundles to the sovereign. Sovereign to sovereign, consort to consort.
32:

Aqua:
04: Your land is but a small nutshell floating in the ocean. Calm your petty feuds and look to the horizon for more powerful things to come.
20: Aqua-Antiquila spoke: “There are many lands across the sea, and there are many seas across the world.”
27: We still remember the fateful day when the dying King announced the ceremonial contest. What other way was there to decide the succession?
30: Those who do not listen will drown in ignorance.

Mutant:
101: A mutant must go berserk when despair overpowers the mind.
102:
103: A mutant must run riot when the pain becomes unbearable.
104: A mutant must strike back when the provocation is intolerable.
105: A mutant must rise up when the violence is overwhelming.
106: A mutant must rampage when the earth the earth crushes its spirit.
107: A mutant must stampede when flames engulf the heart.
108:
109: A mutant must fight when the time is right.
110: A mutant must intervene when desperation overwhelms.

Inquisitors, Interference:
402: This is but a simple demand for absolute loyalty….until the last opponent is crushed.
403:
404: This is an outrage…you will not continue like this!
405: This is cowardice…the forces of the true heir do not run!
406:
407: This is my privilege…only the true heir has the power of intervention.
408:
409:
410:
411:
412: The royal heir expects results. Weakness cannot be shown in the face of the enemy. Prove your worthiness!
413: The royal heir demands loyalty. The heretic pretender to the throne will fall; convert now or perish!

Emissary, Tutu:
500: Your call is heard loud in the jungle. We are proud and keen to join in your struggle. Where is the enemy?
501: In the jungle, it pays to be small. You can surprise your foe again and again.
502: In the rainforest, every foreigner should bring us a gift, lest he become a gift himself!
503: Under the tropics, we honor only the ferocious eleophtians. We often invite one another to feasts!
504:
505:
506: In the veldt, the better the hunters, the bigger the tribe. Hunting in groups makes us insurmountable.
507: At the waterhole, it is wise to let the long-nosed eleophtians take their fill and avoid their feet!

Hyla (Influence):
600: I applaud your quest for enlightenment. However, the path will be difficult, and may take you to unexpected places.
601: A Hyla’s life is but one continual struggle; he learns to see beyond pain and hunger. Why do you continue to fight and suffer so much?
602: Where eternity awaits, there is always opportunity to weigh the consequences. Why do you destroy your own world?
603:
604: Where the fire is cold and the earth is hard, there is little to distract the mind. Why do you listen to the inquisitors?
605:
606:
607: Every Hyla’s path leads to enlightenment, but the trail is uneven and misty. Why don’t you seek an answer from within yourselves?

Re:Blue Moon Legend
That's a heckuva post, Kane!

I had a bit of fun with this topic on the Blue Moon Fans forum. Here's a copy of it:

I own Vulca, Hoax, Khind, and Terrah... and I can make the following observations:
--The Vulca and Hoax seem particularly perturbed with one another, as each mentions the other a few times. I didn't see that sort of specific rivalry in the other two decks.

--The Mimix and Flit take a few stabs at each other (got this from reading the cards on Blue-Moon-Games.com).

--The Khind, however, are willing to spread their disdain across most of the other peoples.

--The Flit cannot construct sentences very well. Even the mutants are more eloquent.

"Within the game - or more precisely within the Legend (so this really belongs in that topic) there is a Blue Moon which is referred to as a personality. I'm not going to do all the work for you, but see for example the Tome of Wisdom (Hoax 20) text. For what the current situation is, Blaze (Vulca 06) should provide the answer. For the future ... who knows?"

My wild comments:
--There is mention of a Blue Moon god-type figure, who went away on the Night of Doom. I don't believe the reason for his departure has been given.

--Blue Moon shone his light through the Cyrstal of Psi, which was shattered. So it's possible that Blue Moon never left... but once the crystal was shattered, there was nothing left for him to shine his light through.

--I suppose it's also possible that Blue Moon isn't really the god the peoples think he is, and is just a moon, whose light is unseen unless there's a really neat crystal around.

Finally:
--The prince and princess are really a couple of (adopted) brats, who don't deserve to take the old King's place. They are responsible for the shattering of the crystal and the destruction of the temples and the creation of the mutants -- and the Night of Doom. Why would any of these reasonably intelligent peoples fight for either of them?

--Blue Moon City was a hell of a place before the Night of Doom. I wonder what other cities there are on this mysterious world? There is a Queen who had left the city a while back, and then heard the cry of the Crystal, and is journeying to meet the heirs. Boy, is she in for a surprise.

--The dragons are really depressed.

Re:Blue Moon Legend
Favre4MVP (#449904),

The "?" word in Pillar 02 is "war".

Thanks for the post. I always assumed that someone was writing all of this down. Better you than me.

There is also the text from the A&I rules sheet:

Quote:
The Legend Goes On...
Since the Night of Doom, there has been much fighting among the peoples of Blue Moon, but neither Royal Heir has prevailed. Following the calls of the Royal Heirs, emissaries from foreign cultures arrive with support and involve themselves in the conflict. The embittered enemies, Princess Elinor and Prince Roland, intervene more directly in the activities and send their most trusted inquisitors to aid and urge the leaders of the peoples towards victory.
As the fighting stretches far and wide, the people dig deeper within themselves to find new strength. Eventually, the Chosen Ones, those once closest to the Holy Dragons and Blue Moon, start to sow seeds of doubt. Will this path of war and aggression ever lead back to peace and prosperity?

Re:Blue Moon Legend
Dearlove (#450225),

Is this really a copyright issue? There are pictures of the game all over this site. I doubt anyone's buying the game just to read the cards. I just thought this would be a nice way for people who own the game and care about it to read everything in one place.
If it's really an issue, I'll delete it (assuming that's possible of course).

Re:Blue Moon Legend
Favre4MVP (#450316),

And how is this any different or worse than people posting spreadsheets with all of the cards values and text, and recreating the board as a .jpg file?

(Don't take that as a snotty remark, it's an honest question. In fact, here's a smiley to prove that it should be read with an inquisitive tone, not a snide one... )

Re:Blue Moon Legend
Is this really a copyright issue?

Technically? Definitely. In practice? Depends if the rights holders care. Do they care about this? Really don't know. Do they care about some things people have done with regard to Blue Moon? Yes. Would I have done this (let's say for some other game to avoid special case issues)? No. Why not? I'm the (over?)cautious type. I have saved copies of emails okaying some things I have done which I felt were in the grey area for certain other games, less so than this. Does this help? Probably not.

Re:Blue Moon Legend
And how is this any different or worse than people posting spreadsheets with all of the cards values and text, and recreating the board as a .jpg file?

Isn't really (answering different). The board I only saw for the first time a couple of days ago (I usually come in to the Forum view of this group, ordered by last post) and have the same opinion of it. The card lists, somehow less so, but that's emotion not logic.

I guess my logic is that the card texts, forming the legend, are a work of art in themselves (much due to Kevin Jacklin) and this copies it. But it's weak logic at best.

Re:Blue Moon Legend
Favre4MVP (#449904),

After some reshuffling and combining some of text, you get the following:

Book 1 - Genesis

There was no beginning. Blue Moon sailed through eternity and shone throughout the void.
Blue Moon made the Holy Crystal and created space and time around it.
Blue Moon forged gold, the matter of perfect balance and harmony, and dusted the universe with golden stars.
Blue Moon took a golden star and squeezed it tight. The gold was split into three elements – earth and fire and water.
Blue Moon made the world from fire and earth in opposition and set it in the Ocean of Eternity.
When the world was new, earth battled with fire. Great mountains roared, spitting lava and smoke. The Holy Spring calmed the world.
When the Holy Spring began to flow across the earth, rivers sprang up from the mountains and the earth became fertile and soft.
When the Holy Spring began to flow across the earth, the water boiled and rose in misty clouds causing rain which tamed the fire.
Blue Moon shone his light through the Holy Crystal, and the light split into a myriad of colors. Where the light fell, the peoples were born.
Blue Moon created a spectrum of peoples, each different and unique, but together forming a balanced whole.
Blue Moon gave us life. Earth forms our body and is the source of our physical strength.
Blue Moon gave us spirit. Fire illuminates our heart and is the source of our magic powers.
Blue Moon gave us wisdom. Water raises us above our inner struggles and frees our thinking.
Blue Moon gave the Holy Crystal and the power of Psi to the world so the King could nurture peace and harmony amongst his peoples.

Book 2 - The Night of Doom and the Coming of the Dark Age

Before the Dark Age, Blue Moon used to send his messenger, Ordrac the Golden Dragon, to bring enlightenment and wisdom to the King of the peoples.
Khind are everywhere! We saw how two small bundles were left at opposite gates of the Palace when the King adopted the Prince and the Princess.
Following the royal tradition, when the Queen heard the Call of Psi, she prepared for the sacred journey to receive the two new heirs.
We still remember the shock in Blue Moon City when the Queen did not return from her sacred journey.
The succession to the late King called for a ceremonial contest between the two royal heirs, represented by their two animals, the lion and the bear.
Tragedy struck the succession contest when Prince Roland and Princess Elinor misused the divine gift of Psi to spur on their fighting animals.
The clashing powers of Psi transformed the battling royal animals into two terrifying mutants – a bear with a lion’s head, and a lion with a bear’s head.
Both claiming victory in the succession contest, the royal heirs angrily threw their spears at each other, accidentally bringing down the Golden Dragon.
When the Golden Dragon fell, the Holy Crystal of Psi was shattered, and a terrible earthquake destroyed Blue Moon City. It was the Night of Doom.
On the Night of Doom, Blue Moon turned away and the Dark Age began. The peoples became torn by conflict – fighting for either the Prince or the Princess.
Without the Crystal of Psi, both royal heirs blamed each other for the Night of Doom. They became embittered enemies in their fight for the throne.
Without a King, many leaders emerged amongst the peoples to organize the fighting in support of their favored royal heir.
A true ruler must be found to build Blue Moon’s kingdom of the future. Only then will peace and harmony return to our world.

Let's not forget the text of the promo 901 card, which must be added to the Genesis part of the Blue Moon legend:

Blue Moon squeezed water out of the golden stars. Water binds the elements and spreads life over the world.

Re:Blue Moon Legend
Incidentally, putting aside any other comments I've made, it's good to see the Legend discussed. When I suggested topics for the Blue Moon Fans English site, I put in a Legend section to encourage this. Reiner and Kevin put some significant work into this, it's good to see it appreciated.

Also, the Legend isn't irrelevant to the game. Things have ben rejected not just for pure game reasons, but also because they didn't fit the Legend. Of course the Legend can be extended.

I can see now that the center of the map shows the broken obelisk, mentioned in one of the cards:

"The obelisk of the Holy Crystal towered over the center of the courtyard. Every night Blue Moon shone through the Crystal, blessing the people."

It is still unclear to me how the elemental dragons came into being...

Re:Blue Moon Legend
... because apart from elemental dragons, there now seem to be also elemental spirits (from which we have seen only the water spirit, but earth- and fire spirits will probably be released as well ?)

So what exactly did come into being when the gold was sqeezed into the tree elements.

We can read something about the purpose of the dragons before the Night of Doom, but not of the elemental spirits.

The Spirits don't really exist. They are the invention of the Advertising department, and are used in promotions only.

Think of them as if they were team mascots.

I don't believe they are entirely a creation of an advertising department, at least not without Reiner's input.

The promotional cards are totally the creation of the usual process, except possibly the idea of having some, which I have no idea who suggested (applied to Blue Moon) first.

And three ruined temples of the three elements/dragons as I recall. The artist did a good job there.

(This is something the unofficial - don't ask me about it - "improved" board unimproves.)

The illustration on the board looks like the ruins of an ancient city. That Night of Doom must have been devastating.

Not sure I can make out what is what on the board, though, except for the destroyed obelisk in the center.

Re:Blue Moon Legend
Questions to spark further discussion:

Of what people are the (adopted?) Prince Roland and Princess Elinor? What about the King and Queen?

The Chosen Ones don't seem to be very impressed with the heirs, and speak of needing to find an alternative way of dealing with the present conflict - what could it be?

There are a number of unresolved questions - holes in the sparse knowledge we currently have. Which of them stand out? Listing these could be useful.

We have references to how Earth and Fire are constantly at battle and it was Water that unified them. Perhaps the Aqua will have a significant role to play in the end of the current conflict?

Octavian (#452063),

And why is the golden star squeezed into THREE elements, and not the four we always uses (fire, earth, water and AIR)?

The Flit flies (Air), and share that ability only with the dragons...

Re:Blue Moon Legend
swinkelp (#452352),

At one point, on some thread here, Chris said that there were only three elements in the world of Blue Moon.

Fire and Earth have the characters with the highest values, and Aqua 04 has values of 4/4. If the paterns continue, and Aqua 01, 02, and 03 are balanced, we could see a 7/7. Or not. It would only make sense that the "elemental" People would have the strogest characters. By comparison, the Flit, where Air is not an element, have the weakest.

Of course, with the Gaurdian Pair, Nature has some strength as well.

I think these are out of order. It strikes me that the first of these three should really come last. Note Pillar 31: "Before our time, the returning consort always gave up one of the two bundles to the sovereign. Sovereign to sovereign, consort to consort. "

The Queen would traditionally leave to get the heirs and would decide herself which would get the throne. Instead, the Queen didn't return and both children were left at the gate. This explains why a contest had to be held to decide the succession.

What happened to the Queen?

She never returned...can anyone confirm that she died? Or does everyone just think she died?

And if she did die - how? It sounds as if this conflict would have never happened had she returned - was it by someone's design (besides Reiner's ) that she didn't?

She did leave on a journey for some reason, and did not return. Isn't it possible she'll be coming back in E&I2? That would be cool.
