Thats a nice tab, guys.
You chould add a line like "Click on the game name for details" or something.

Very nice, I'm liking the pictures a lot too, already seen two new games that weren't on my radar before.
BTW - don't mean to tease, but I kinda like the 'chould' - a little more pressure than just saying they COULD, just not a hard command like saying they SHOULD. Maybe we chould all start using it & see if we can get it into the dictionary in a few years

Well, this is just silly.

I love it! It's so pretty!
Here's a chould:
On one message board I frequent, you can see the opening few lines of a post before opening it, just by holding your mouse over the post. Would that be possible here?
Here's the site so you can see what I mean:

That looks great! Very inviting.

Or maybe have the images link to the game pages instead of a blowup of the image? It might be less confusing since it's a welcome page.

I like it, but it could use even more. Depending on how many status bars you have enabled in your browser, it's 2/3rds down the page before these pictures even start.
1. Does the site really need to keep the boardgamegeek marketplace and geekspeak logos? Or the BGG running geek logo so big in the upper right hand corner? Can't all 3 be combined into the same space in the upper right hand corner?
2. The second line I have (at 1024x768 res) is "Total)" can we find a word or two to drop so this can stop wrapping from the 1st line?
3. The "Ad Sponsored by" text add could also go. If you gain space in the left column how about moving it there?
These 3 steps should reclaim over 25% of the home page space.

I like Welcome. How can i make it my default tab when I come to the site?

1024x768 works just fine - Don't Wide the Site!
Missing old BGG

It's good, but it would be much better without the small pictures--just the four random pictures, maybe followed by a very, very short introductory message. I like the less frenzied Web sites myself, without sensory overload.

Come on you Seagulls! Sami Hyppia's Blue & White army!
That's weird. This bit used to mention Shire Games, and tell you all how wonderful we are. But it seems to have got deleted. Let's see what happens this time ....

Stephen,
Either change your 'Favourite' properties to say www.boardgamegeek.com/?tab=131072 (right-click on the favourite in the list, and replace the URL)
... or click on the Welcome tab, then click favourites ... add to favourites
(This assumes Internet Explorer .... although the procedure should be the same with any, really)
Hope that helped ....
Nick
