I think some members of my family would like to play this game.

I was thinking about getting the new Rio Grande version "Dream Factory" as a present, but an opportunity arose for me to purchase the "Hollywood Blockbuster" version used for under $20.

Which one should I buy?

They're the same game. Some prefer one set of components, others prefer another. Personally, if one edition was half the price of the other, I'd buy the cheap one...the differences are just too small.

That's what I thought.

The color scheme in "Dream Factory" looks easier on the eyes.
Is the component quality (thickness of the pieces and board) comparable?

The Hollywood blockbuster version has nice thick tiles and board. Although the colors are a bit drab.
