Over 4000 times, we've tried to put down the zombie uprising. Many thousands of times, we thought we succeeded.
...
We were wrong. Many thousand times wrong.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

zombie Zombie in my Pocket is a product of BGG. It was designed because I was inspired by Print and Play games I found here.

zombie You found it, played it, rated it, reviewed it. And then Kwanchai took the game a step further, by adding his amazing graphic design skills.

zombie More people printed it, played it, rated it. It hit the top 1000 games on BGG. It was picked up by a publisher, and the original game remains free to print and play. The published version (1-8 players) sold out at Essen 2010. More are coming to stores now.

zombie ZimP won the Golden Geek Award, because a lot of people (including you) really enjoyed the game, cared about it, brought it into your lives, and voted for it. I'm eternally grateful.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

zombie Now there are more! The zombies aren't put down! They're coming after you! zombie

On the three year anniversary of the design of Zombie in my Pocket, I'm releasing [thing=87169][/thing].

You thought burying the evil zombie totem was enough.
You thought all the zombies were destroyed.
You thought you would all be safe.

Turns out all of us were wrong.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

I'm going to preview bits of the game here, as we're waiting for a few things.

1. I have to finalize the files.
2. Upload the files.
3. BGG must approve the files.

Thanks! And Happy Hunting!

I'd post pictures, but it's so ugly right now.

I'll have more for you soon Ron. I'm not intending to drag this out any longer than it takes me to get things done.

Sounds awesome Jeremiah! To be honest, I have never been a huge Zombie fan, but I was converted to semi-fandom, by ZimP and Last Night on Earth. Both games offer lighthearted family friendly gameplay with easy to digest (pardon the pun whistle ) rules.

The fact that you can build ZimP yourself gave me a real sense of accomplishment. As simple as it is, it's a rewarding endeavour.

Looking forward to filling my other pocket!

Geez! Not another one!

Does this mean I have to do "Airborne in my Other Pocket"?

Standalone. It's a new gaming experience.

Another preview coming up today (as soon as the kids go to sleep).

Preview #2
A sample action card:

Fight +3
Cower +3
Flee -0
Brains : Uncover
Barricade
Scale (Move)

Each time you do something, you're spending an action card, and if you ever run out of action cards, you're dead. Luckily, you can cower to get more (3 in the example). Some cards are better for some things than others, so you might want to save some for different purposes...but then, zombies have a way of taking away cards.

So, basically your Action Cards double as your Health Counter! Brilliant!

Indeed, and I agree that it's brilliant, but I completely stole the idea from Island Of D 2: The Shadow of Dawn, and I hear that the Highlander: The Card Game had something of the same back in 1996. I think it works really well here, but it's an adaptation of a great idea.

Sounds awesome, Jeremiah. I can't wait to try this!

Question: Is the art of the same style as the "original" v.1.0 of ZiMP, or how does it look? Previews, please ;)

So far, there is no art. It will be in the same "style" as my original (pre-Kwanchai) artwork (see below). Hopefully someone will take interest in re-envisioning it.

Don't knock yourself. It is art - simple though it may be. I like it, anyways.

What did the original cards look like? Edit: I mean the cards that had the time events on them.

Those are the original tiles!

I asked Kwanchai if he was planning to take on this version. He only stated that no one had asked him yet. If he doesn't have the time or the inclination, I can pop something together like I did for the Two-Player Optional Rules: Zombies in our Pockets ...

Yeah, I haven't asked Kwanchai to do it. I'd certainly love to have his art on this game, but Im hoping the game is well enough received that he (or someone else) has a real desire to redesign it.

I'll see if I have a jpg of an old Dev card I can upload.

The picture wasn't intentionally terrible. I'm not trying to hide the game, it's just a bad shot, and I didn't notice until I had already taken everything down and got the image on the computer. Sorry.

This is pretty early in the game. I just walked into a dead end with 10 zombies. This is a must-flee situation. I'm the light-colored circle near all the dark colored circles.

Down at the bottom of the image are my action cards, I currently have three, and I use one to flee.

The top right (playing cards) are the 'Braains' cards. I've already taken a couple away (which is good), but had to use them early to avoid death.

On the upper-left, near the pen, are the Dev cards. Time starts at midnight, and you have until 4am to get it all done.

The ZimP location tiles are stand-ins for the ZimOP location tiles. They won't be reused. We're in the graveyard the whole time now.

Huh. I like those a lot, actually. Maybe even more than kwanchais.
Reminds of the "Hi! My name is:"-tags you find at AA meetings and such.

This is without a doubt the most awesome news that I have gotten all day long!

Even if I am several days late in getting the news. whistle

Congrats again Jeremiah for the Golden Geek!

I cannot wait to make and play this. I'm not even gonna tell my boy until I have it done, he'll flip when he finds out there is a NEW Zimp.
