[q="Spacehulk"][q="mandirigma"]Would the die be somewhat "weighted" then, if one side has too much glue/paper? Did you do 100 or so sample rolls to see if it was still random and no apparent recurring pattern?
I did several hundred rolls and tracked the amount of treasure rolled whcich ended up being slightly higher than expected but within statistical tolorence (95%CI) of the sample size. .
Time it takes to roll a dice and keep track statistically what is rolled each time and enter it into an excel spreadsheet, after you correctly apply glue to the surface of your die evenly, 2 hours.
Time it takes to memorize what a blank, enhancement and surge do when opening up a chest, less than 30 seconds. It still doesn't take into account for differences with bone heaps, barrels and sarcophagi do differently from chests.
I am not try to downplay your idea, I think it is a great one, but to me it would be easier to roll something I know is weighted correctly and took me less than 30 seconds to memorize. Food and drink and comfortableness is a huge thing when playing a game more than a couple hours though.
