Tempting, but I am one of the (few?) who like the upgraded bits, so I will be waiting.

The Queen edition looks good from the few tiny pictures I've seen; definitely an improvement over the garish CE.

PO has been out for 2.5 yrs now, and ironically we've started playing it a lot in the last few months around here. It's a ton of fun!

aaaggghh!!! (pulls hair out)

I was really looking forward to this one, it was top of my Essen list.

I was hoping for a nice xmas present but it looks like it'll be my birthday (August) now.

Not garish, not even close.

Garish being a subjective term, you're talking to someone who thinks this is beautiful:

Some titles are prettier than others. I find the color Winsome maps (particularly PO) to be quite pretty although I'm not a fan of the mountain and river markings. GM&O needs some additional signage to go with the shares. SNCF is functional, but ugly. B&O was functional as well, but it was not the most pleasant game to look at.

I think something midway (JC's 1830-FR, Tim Harrison's American Rails) are examples of function and form without going overboard.

That said, Chicago Express is a pretty game to look at. Difficult board to play on in some respects, but still pretty.

Your board is fine. Playing PO with Candyland cards, on the other hand... that's just sacrilege! sauron
