This is the spot to talk about the trade, request items be listed and insult each other's crappy offerings. Please keep discussion on the actual GeekList to questions about specific games listed (ie; edition or condition questions).

Geeklist is here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/64118/conncon-2011-no-...

Here are the rules again too:

ConnCon is a yearly gaming convention held in Stamford CT. This year it runs from March 18th to March 20th. For more information about ConnCon, go to http://www.conncon.com/ This is a no ship math trade which means that you (or someone you have designated) must at the very least be able to get to the con. (You don't need to actually buy a badge and attend the con, but you need to be able to hand off and collect games in person at the hotel)

This Math Trade is open to all types of games, game accessories, RPGs, Video Games and whatever other nerdy stuff you feel like trading (comics, action figures, DVD sets etc.).

This list is where you post your offerings for trade. If you are new to Math Trades in general, please check Math_Trades for further information on how this works. Please also feel free to GeekMail me (Matt Loter) if you need assistance getting started. We would love to have as many people take part as possible, so don't be shy about asking for help or clarification!

Deadlines

Method of Finding Trades

We will be using TradeMaximizer 1.4 with Linear Priorities and Dummy Protection.

For more information you can read the TradeMaximizer wiki page or ask me directly.

Wantlist format

This year I'm going to try using the OLWLG, in fact, I'm going to demand that everyone use it. Having run a bunch of math trades (mostly not on BGG) I'm looking forward to having to do a lot less formatting and cut and pasting of things to make this go off. The wiki for the OLWLG is here: OLWLG and again, don't be shy about asking for help making it work for you. It really makes everything easier for everyone involved to use it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: if for some reason the software screws up (or I screw it up), I may request old school submission lists. I'm setting the end date early enough that even with any delays we can still get things set in time for bringing everything to ConnCon.

Rules and Restrictions

* You must accurately describe your game's condition, language, edition, etc. You should specifically state if any portion of your game is not in English.

* You should choose a photo that best represents the game you are trading (language, edition, and the like). If there are none suitable in the database, pick the one that's closest and make a note in your item listing.

* Duplicate games are allowed, even from the same user. If you are listing multiple copies of the same game, please make a comment to that effect so that we know you didn't accidentally add the game twice (or more!)

* Game sweeteners/Sets of games must be listed using either the GAMEID formatting (for example: gameid=1 inside square brackets[] yields Die Macher) or you may alternately use a link to the game's page (like http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/1). Including images is also helpful.

* Non-game entries must be added as "Outside the Scope of BGG" (game id 23953) or "Miscellaneous Game Accessory" (game id 5985) and must include the +altname+ brief description -altname- format in the description of your item. (more info on this is in the OLWLG wiki)

* You can continue to add items to the list up until the close of submissions (Mar. 7th just before midnight).

* Please do not delete items from the geeklist. If you do this, I will find you and kill you at ConnCon.If you no longer wish to trade an item, edit the item to say so and submit a blank want list.

Policies

* I am the ultimate arbiter of any disputes unless you wish to fight to death in which case you care a whole lot more than I do and I'll leave you to it.

* This is a local trade, with no shipping.

* You should plan to deliver your traded games some time on Friday and pick up your games on Saturday. If you are only attending Saturday, plan to deliver early that morning. If you are only attending Sunday, geekmail me. More details about specific times and meeting locations will be posted with the results. This is to minimize any confusion about who's meeting who where and for what etc. and make the trades go smoothly.

* I reserve the right to remove games from the list for whatever reason. If you are on the bad traders list, your games will most likely be removed.

* By posting an entry on this list, you agree to abide both by the general math trade guidelines and by those specific to this math trade.

* Only errors by the moderator will invalidate the results. You are responsible for checking the full set of want lists when they are posted to ensure that yours are properly registered. This must be completed by the deadline for Want Lists Confirmed.

* Use the related forum thread for questions and discussions of this math trade (however, for questions on individual items, please leave comments on the item itself, here on the list).

Put up great stuff, the worst that happens is you don't end up trading it away. The better stuff you put up, the better stuff other people will put up. Also, trade aggressively, no shipping means this is the time to really clear out your shelves of anything you don't play and get some fresh stuff in there for free!

LIST IS CLOSED FOR NEW SUBMISSIONS.

Go on the wantlint generator and get those wantlists done by next Monday night. Remember, this is no ship so be aggressive with what you'll take and you'll end up with some new games and not have to pay anything!

Where to drop your stuff off?

You'll need to bring me all the games you have that successfully traded. Drop off should happen sometime on Friday. If that's an issue, just let me know and we'll work something out. I should be around the convention area all day Friday, ask Mark where I am or come find me (I already know most of you). I'll let Mark know if I'm stepping out for a bit and in that case, you can drop your games off with him in the board gaming room library area. In the case of an emergency, he has my cell number. It would be great if you wrote the name of who each game is for on it as it would make it quicker for me to just double check that you are right, but don't worry if you don't get to it.

Where to collect your fat loots?

I'll have bags ready to go for people Saturday morning. Try to bring a list with you of what you are expecting so we can double check it on the spot and make sure it's right.

Most of you have done this with me in the past so it should be smooth sailing. If you have any questions or are unsure of anything, don't hesitate to ask.

Hey Avri, I've long been thinking about getting a baseball game for a friend of mine and maybe one of yours is what I want. Dude is a maniac with stats and all that, he works at FAN and is super into baseball, not a gamer at all really though. Would either of those be cool for him? Which would be a better pick?

Strat-O-Matic Baseball is the classic, well respected in and out of the gaming hobby. You're always going to be able to find S-o-M opponents, and be able to play with as much detail as any stats geek could want. I just prefer Statis Pro Baseball (which I'd been playing for two decades before picking up S-o-M), hence the trade . . .

Sherco's Grand Slam Baseball Game is a fascinating attempt to expand the scope of each play (positioning the fielders, tracking each ball in play) but it is not nearly as well supported at S-o-M. That said, it comes with a handful of historical teams which are great for an old time baseball buff and I'm holding onto a copy - the NIS one in the MT is a "spare" . . .

So in short, S-o-M is a no brainer for any baseball fan.
Sherco is more of a stretch but is worth a look.

If I'm only going to be there for the Saturday, will I still be able to take part in the math trade?

* You should plan to deliver your traded games some time on Friday and pick up your games on Saturday. If you are only attending Saturday, plan to deliver early that morning. If you are only attending Sunday, geekmail me. More details about specific times and meeting locations will be posted with the results. This is to minimize any confusion about who's meeting who where and for what etc. and make the trades go smoothly.

Also, since you're an alright dude I guess I wouldn't mind helping out, I could easily get your stuff from you beforehand so you don't even have to worry about it. But only if you trade good stuff...

Just a heads up that I'm a shitty planner and forgot till right now that I'd have poor internet access this weekend (doing PAX for WotC) and as such likely won't get to answering any questions you might have until either late Sunday or Monday morning. Everything seems to be working fine though and if you have a freak out, don't worry about being a little late.

Results posted. Everything looks in order to me. 74 total trades is pretty good. If you wanted something of mine and it didn't trade, make an offer cause I'd likely still like to get rid of it.

If this is your first math trade, know that it is totally reasonable, and in fact awesome, if you take stuff that didn't trade in the actual MT and make some side deals with it.

Oh, I forgot to add that if you want to donate some geekgold to the list, I'll pass it along to JeffyJeff for his graciously awesome OLWLG which for me at least, made things a lot easier.

Another great math trade. Big thanks to Matt for running it.

I just looked at the stats and noticed I was the last one to submit my want list. I thought I has already done it. blush Anyway, I got it in before the deadline.

Looking forward to the big event.

Wow, I'm really surprised. Of the 6 items I submitted a wish list for, the two I thought had the least chance of being traded (Octi and Sleuth) were the ones that made it! Very odd, but I'm happy with the results.

Anyway, I would also be happy to entertain offers for my 4 1ed Wizard Kings armies, Gloria Mundi, Panzer Grenadier, and Upwords.

I picked up a second copy of Tigris (doh, newbie mistake) and I only wanted the expansion for pandemic, so if anyone wants these Im open for business. Also anything I didnt relieve during the trade is still on the chopping block. Just realized Cosmic Encounter is OOP, haha glad that didnt go.
