cool

We are the University of Cincinnati Board Game Club. We have the ability to have funding to support one annual trip this upcoming fall or winter (2011). What are the most fun or best events we can register for and go to?

Price and distance aren't really issues but we prefer within driving distance from Ohio (Florida is perfect, Cali a bit far).

And preferrably 3-5 days on the weekend but I don't want to get picky so any replies would be helpful!

You might want to try out Prezcon in Charlottesville Virginia, coming up Feb 23-27. I always enjoy Game Days which is sponsored by the Games Club of Maryland (www.gamesclubofmd.org), and this year it's May 5-8.

DragonCon? It's in Atlanta in September.

Of course there's BGG.Con in Dallas in November.

Both Origins and GenCon are within spitting distance of Cincy, but I'm sure you're already aware of those.

Origins, of course! It's a short trip and a great con!

Also, consider BGG.CON -- get you into the heat during winter -- although it is a bit far!

So ... what Rishi said!

Go to the Buckeye Game Fest. It is October 13-16 at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Columbus. The CABS Library of 1000+ games is on hand so there are plenty of games to be played. The room rate is $79.00/night and admission is $25.00/person. If you have any other questions about it just let me know and I'll be happy to answer them!

Yes, this is exactly what I was looking for. DragonCon in Atlanta and BGG.Con in Dallas both sound great, thanks Rishi.

I'll look more into these and let the group know.

And no John, UC doesn't really care as long as they know we're legit students, and besides we're actually all 21+ in the club right now.

DragonCon can be pretty cool, but not necessarily for the boardgaming.
