Re: My Current Projects
i was thinking about a leaders expansion of some sort. i feel it might destabilize the game since it is so short.

maybe some sort of generic roles - Scientist, Engineer, Diplomat etc.. which provide a one time bonus in one of the rounds. drafted like in 7 wonders. say 12 roles, each player gets 3-6 of them and chooses 2

Re: My Current Projects
Caught a typo in the rules, Marvels section:
"arraigned" should be "arranged"

And a rules question:
When there are two tiles left in a hand, do you keep one and discard the other, like in 7 Wonders? Or do you pass the last tile as normal and that player keeps it?

Re: My Current Projects
thanks for catching that nick.

you pass the last tile as normal yes. i think that actually sets up a decision point about do i give you tile (since i may see it benefits you) or do i keep it and give you the other one

Re: My Current Projects
I haven't played the game yet, but I am in the process of building it for the third time. Maybe I'll manage to get a game in this time!

Re: My Current Projects
I knew going in that this is still the playtesting stage, so I don't mind. Plus, it is a very easy game to build.

Kind of reminds me of my early days with RPG's (1976~). There wasn't anything like a FLGS then where I lived so we used a modified deck of playing cards to simulate percentile dice.

It would be a shame to make them generic since you've included so much great SF flavor in the tiles. You could do The Mule, Hari Seldon, etc.

Re: My Current Projects
As promised, Printer Studio linen finish cards. I don't have any of their normal cards to compare against, but I think they are real nice - they shuffle very well tool.

PS: Images are helpfully upside down X.X

Is linen their standard finish?

It is not. Their normalstandard finish is smooth and polished. It's very shiny and has a slight orange-peel texture in the finish.

Re: My Current Projects
Is that what he means by "linen" or is it an upgrade? I couldn't find an option for it on their site.

If you go under Custom Cards, there is a dropdown box for "Finish" which has 2 options - standard and Premium. These are the Premium cards.

Re: My Current Projects
So glad the game is getting so much interest!

I was wondering about making square cards. Print them upsized a bit with Printer Studio, then trimming the top and bottom. Then can use a corner rounder to finish them off. Or put them in trimmed card sleeves.

Re: My Current Projects
I made mine as tiles, on thicker stock than playing cards. There are so few of them that they feel more like tiles than cards to me.

Re: My Current Projects
yes that would probably work scott. the pdfs can be opened to a larger scale in photoshop. probably add a black background for proper bleed dimension

you could do the marvel boards with some rejiggering in 1/3rds each on a card and get a card deck of 90 cards (72 tiles + 18 marvel 3rds)

glad you finally got a set nick. i am about to do another couple of rounds of solo 2handed play in a bit.

singularity vs the belt miners should be a fun matchup
