I'm using Sevej's custom board. Since posting the screen shot, I've changed the board to one that has bigger, easier to see text. All the card images and pawns and stuff are from the Vassal module. The research stations are about the only art I did myself. Jack "The Warp" Reda's Threat Level Six fan expansion has been added as well. His other expansions will be added as I have time. EDIT: As of version 1.29, these have been removed to make fixing bugs and adding other features simpler. I will add them back in later. Everything is automated and rules are enforced. I have even started to code a Bio-Terrorist computer AI. I'm not much good at it though. Right now all it can do it pick an out of the way location to start in and just do local infections.
Edit: Okay, after some thought I think I'll post it. It's about 15 megs so I don't think I can upload it to BGG (they warn files over 10 megs might get messed up or something). But here's a few external links:
Windemic Version 1.61 - Latest and greatest version. http://www.mediafire.com/file/yx0qegofy47rr7e/Windemic_1.61....
Just download, unzip, and run Windemic.exe It should work on any version of windows.
If you get an error about a missing msvcr100.dll then you need to install one of these (based on your version of windows, not processor). 32 bit windows: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555. 64 bit windows: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=1463... You only need to install this once.

Not sure on copyright, seems art is the only thing in most of those cases. Sounds like you have covered that???
Personally, I'd enjoy it.

Exactly one step below my laptop's screen capability. Any chance you can change that?

Re: Yet another computer version of Pandemic
Got it running on my PC, and it works really well. Great job! I'd love to see and would gladly pay for an official PC or perhaps iPad version of the game at some point, so hopefully Zev has something in the works.
One error I've noticed is that with the Mutation Strain challenge from On the Brink, the Mutation cards in the Infection Deck should not be in play until after the first Epidemic is drawn. At that point, they are shuffled in with the Infection discards and may come into play.
Please fix this so that the screen resolution will work on laptops. That would be a lot more useful in general for when I'd like to be able to use this (on airplanes, for example).

Ugh. My ancient, decrepit laptop has a max resolution of 1024x768. I'd love to try the game. Hopefully you're able to change this.
*EDIT* Even if you don't, I still give you props for doing this.

Since there's more people with low resolutions than I expected, I might try to add a low res option. 1024x768 seems to be the smallest still in use?

As for the mutation thing, it appears that I read the rules wrong and have been playing wrong. I've been putting them on top of the infection deck rather than the infection discard... oops. I'll fix that in my next release.

Re: Yet another computer version of Pandemic
I have played two games so far, and think it's fine. My resolution doesn't seem to be a problem...maybe it is. I can't shut the game down at the end. The quit and close-out X at the top don't work.
I'm still learning the interface (The dispatcher came across as a little hard to use) but I like it so far.... if it allowed me to close down.
Another feature that would be great (and not needed) but an undo previous move button. Twice I've stepped forward and realized I went the wrong direction. I can't get those actions back. I admit that's a problem with computer based games, so I'll accept it as human error and not an issue with the game. But it might be nice in future versions.

I just finished my first game using this too. Worked great on our computer too. I 100% agree with haccpmonkey of his finds of "Can't shut down" and also would be nice to have an "Un-Do" button.
Thanks this is really a cool computer game.

Further play...
Airlift doesn't like to let me play it when I have to discard. choosing to play the card in this situation doesn't decrease my hand size, I still have to discard, then it lets me play the card.
I've also just encountered a game where I can't play an epidemic card. They draw to your hand, which I can understand the need to do that, but it's stuck in my hand and won't play.
Wait... okay, that's because I hadn't resolved the issue with the airlift...and it has now crashed.
Third game in a row with a crash on airlift. I'd look into that.
Still...and I want to be clear, I'm getting the hang of it and I like it. I think it's great work, just needs some fixes. Keep it up. Thanks.

Re: Yet another computer version of Pandemic
Looks good, but unfortunately, it won't run properly on my PC.
When I start up the game, the initial screen flashes and then "spreads" in diagonal stripes all over the screen, even over parts of the desktop not occupied by the game window. Ironically, if I grab the title bar to move the window, the window is displayed correctly. As soon as I let go, I have diagonal stripes again.
It seems to be a graphics problem only, because my clicks in the window have the effect they should (launching game, moving pawns, etc).
Also, I cannot close the game by clicking the X in the upper right of the window.
My resolution is 1680x1050 on an nVidia GeForce GTX 480. OS is Win7 Home 64 bit. I tried using XP compatibility mode and disabling Aero, to no avail.

Re: Yet another computer version of Pandemic
Thank you to everyone for trying it out and giving me some good feedback. I've got a patch that fixes some issues mentioned below and adds 1024x768 as a resolution. It's the default, so if you want to go back to my weird resolution, click 1440x900 at the bottom of the setup screen.
Oh, and as a warning: I didn't do too much testing on the 1024x768 mode, so hopefully it works. If not let me know and I'll get it fixed.
You can get the patch here: See the first post for the latest. Unzip it inside the pandemic folder. It should replace the old pandemic.exe and readme.txt Original post has been edited with a link to the full download. Use that if you can't get the "patch" to work.

Seems I missed a check somewhere when it's in "endgame mode". Should be fixed now.
The close-out X in the top right is always disabled. It's a property of the Allegro graphics library I'm using. But hitting escape should always let you out of the game.
The dispatcher just has so many different movement actions. I had to separate them to make it work, so it doesn't work as intuitively as I'd like it to. I'll had it to my list of future improvements.
Speaking of future improvements... As for an undo button, it's on my wishlist. I've put it off because it'll be a lot of extra code to keep a history of the entire game state, especially because of all the exceptions/complications that using roles and special events adds. I do plan to eventually add it though.

I found the problem with it making you discard a 2nd card after trying to play the airlift. I wasn't making you discard it immediately like all the other Special Events. I did this in case you wanted to move someone, but Government Interference wouldn't let them - this way you wouldn't lose the card. (BTW, Government Interference adds so many extra checks that I'm sure it's responsible for at least 75% of my bugs) Not sure about the crashes. Were they after you tried to play it normally? or playing instead of a discard? Hopefully the discard a 2nd card fix will stop the crash as well.

Re: Yet another computer version of Pandemic
I found a bug where I had to discard some cards, so I played the card that let's me build a research station. It didn't let me immediately build the research station (maybe not a bug, but confusing) until I discarded another card. After I discarded another card, the app prompted me to build a research station. I selected a city, but it continued to ask me to build a research station. Basically the only actions available at that point were to build stations until I hit the limit and then remove and build research stations. Effectively game over.
I found another bug when I switched to another window to check something in the rules. I was unable to switch back to the game window as the window would not refresh.

It appears I messed up my previous fix to playing special events instead of discarding. See the first post for the patch. The infinite build research stations was caused by the above problem, so it should be fixed as well.
I'm not sure what would cause it to become unresponsive. Might be my old graphics library

I do think it's kind of weird for a library to disable the "X" since it's ingrained in user behavior to close windows that way. But I realize it's not your fault so it's okay.

I have tried it on 2 laptops (a HP (Vista) and a Dell (XP) both meeting minimum requirements) and both crash upon running the file at the same point. It asks me if I want to run the program, I click 'Run' and the program reports that 'Pandemic.exe has stopped working'
Edit: This is the latest version I have been running (1.03)
