Im looking for any information on how to produce a board game and have it distributed. The board game itself has been produced as a sample of 250, what they are now looking to do is to produce it on a larger scale to bring costs down and to distribute it. The main detail is that these 250 are based in South Africa. It is an educational game that was made by a non-profit organization. Any help is appreciated.

Before you even worry about distribution, has the game been playtested and then have you checked to see how the market responds to the game? For a distributor to get involved they are going to need to know it will sell quickly.

If the product is any good, another thought may be to sell the rights to the game rather than produce it yourself.

I'm not sure exactly what you want to know though.

I don't think any US or UK distributors have a base in South Africa. If you really want to go local you could try www.boardgames.co.za. But they're only a distributor. You might be better off approaching the major overseas producers.

Try Indie Boards and Cards or Tasty Minstrel Games.
