I was thinking about getting some custom dice from Chessex colored and with the chaos god symbol on them for the six.

Any idea on how many of each I should get. I was thinking 5 or 6 should be good, but Khorne might need more?

What does everyone else think?

The game comes with five dice, so that seems like a natural place to start.

Yeah, that is kind of why I was thinking 5 or 6, but I know Khorne especially can get to six pretty easy. I figure the khorne player can steal from neighbors too, so I suppose just 5 would be ok.

There is nothing better than playing board games with my 4 sons!

Minimum with Chessex is 10 dice per etching, so you'd have to at least get 10 of each. I'd be interested in getting a full set if you want to split an order with me. Do you have the logos? I can set those up too if you need.

6 for Slaanesh,
7 for Nurgle,
8 for Khorne, and
9 for Tzeench
desn't really matter if you use them or not

I bought some Chessex dice themed to each God and am considering doing the same as you - ordering a set with the relevant symbol on the '6'. I'd like to know how you got on in the end as well!

Chessex have got back to me with a photo of some mock-up dice they've made. If I order these they'll be $1 per die with a minimum order amount of 10 of each faction. I've not committed to buy any yet and I've asked if they have a maximum limit as I can see these being quite popular!

They are 16mm dice in the following colours:
Khorne - red/gold 'Scarab'
Nurgle - Green 'Vortex'
Tzeentch - Sky Blue 'Borealis'
Slaanesh - Purple 'Velvet'

They didn't have a suitable option for a Horned Rat dice set as yet, so that one will have to wait!

I assume (hope) the icon appears in place of 6? Color me interested but cautious.

As for final pricing, there have been several Arkham Horror custom die campaigns over the years. It is very apparent that the price per die goes down with volume. I imagine it may help your effort if you make it clear what the next volume break points is, and work to get individuals to commit to the order.

Then post the next break point…rinse, repeat.

Yes, the icon replaces the '6 spot' on each die and yes, price drops with increased volume. Here are the price breaks from the Chessex website; we'd be paying for one 'side' and the price of each die is included:

10-25 dice: $1.00 per side
26-99 dice: $0.75 per side
100-199 dice: $0.60 per side
200-499 dice: $0.50 per side
500-999 dice: $0.42 per side

Edit: I've asked for samples of an alternate Khorne die using the Gemini red/black colouring and of Horned Rat dice in Marble Ivory and Velvet black/red. I'll post pictures when available.
