I'm in.

I can tell you right now that my checking twice a day twelve hours apart on Tuesdays will not happen for the next month and a half (I'm in class that day and leave early, but usually get back early).

Weekends might be tough as well. I'll check in at least once a day -- unless something comes up -- but I can't say when that'll be.

I'd like more players if we can manage it. I'm also pondering taking a Cylon Leader if it's available and doesn't cause too many headaches for the Exodus components, but if someone else wants to play a leader or it is I'm okay with playing a regular character.

I use lots and lots of flavour text, as anyone who has ever played with me is well awere of [grin].

Actually, on re-reading the game parameters, what exactly is missing? I know that we won't have a Crossroads, but are allies and trauma in play or not?

No they're not. I'd have to track them manually, and that seemed like biting off an awful lot for my first game. I might to an uber-game next if this one goes smoothly enough.

Ah. Then I think I'll have to pass on this game. I'm okay without the Crossroads -- although I did want to try it -- but I really did want to try those things out.

Sorry about that.

No worries. Just to let you know, allies & trauma require the crossroads phase, otherwise a lot of trauma's significance doesn't apply.

I had thought that, but missed what the destination was going to be the first time. I'll make sure to look closer the next time [grin].

Psst, is nobody interested at all?

I am tentatively in, but I'm very leery about the invitees who just finished an 11-month game in BSG 73. BSG PBF should not last longer than 2 months, in my opinion, as long as everybody checks in once or twice a day.

mrmarcus, iainreid and Hoyt noted on the waitlist they don't want to play with Exodus. ackmondual appears to check in regularly. If CapZich accepts and cannot commit to a much faster pace than in BSG 73, then I'll probably drop out.

Alternate jozxyqk is IN if the Lords of Kobol will have me.

I have no preference for number of players;
I prefer a Cylon Leader to avoid the Sympathizer argument altogether, (although I'm unlikely to pick one myself in this game)

but, barring that, if we have 6 players, I'd prefer the base-game Sympathizer and Exodus Loyalty Deck rules (i.e. the possibility of Symp showing up pre-sleeper phase).

I'm in! I'm sure you'll be a fine mod.

I would request that since rules 4 and 9 are game modifications that we put them to a player vote. I'm in either way, but wanted to put it out there.

I understand the concern, but think you have to be careful about judging the players for a slow game; it takes a half-dozen people to make a game go quickly, and only one to make it lag. Then again, I haven't looked at the thread...

My opinion on Rule 4:
In other peoples' houses, I am happy playing by their house rules.
But personally, I think Tory and Helena are both fine as-written (it took a lot of soul-searching and justification to get myself to believing Cain is fine, but I honestly believe she is now).

My opinion on Rule 9:
As I am unlikely to choose a Cylon Leader in this game, I really have no opinion here. Again, I don't mind playing as-written, but I understand that Join the Colonials is a lot more challenging with one of the alternate destinations.

For your first moderated game, I recommend 5, though feel free to include more. I have no strong preference. I’m not interested in playing a Cylon Leader (I’m interested in playing one only with Ionian Nebula).

My personal opinion is the Exodus characters were designed with the Cylon Fleet in mind, and are hence too powerful when the Cylon Fleet is not used. Hence, I'm good either way with Rule #4. I still nerfed Tory because I don’t like the idea of her gaining 4 cards on an XO to the President in the President’s Office, when other characters have no inherent way to get more than 1 card in each entire round..

Weighing in on opinions, I'm against the substitutions in item 4, and for the replacements in item 9. I generally like to stick to the game as written, but even I can see that some of the Agendas in Pegasus are pretty lame.

As far as player number, I say set a departure time and (assuming we get at least 1 more response) we launch wit what we've got. Maybe some time like noon tomorrow or some such. But I'm definitely not picking a Cylon Leader if we launch with 5. And I have no opinion on Sympathizer vs. Sympathetic Cylon, if it comes to that.

So I don't even get a chance to respond? I don't mind playing with Exodus - just hadn't bothered updating the list with it. Wasn't expecting it to be an issue so soon.

We have 5 now if mmarcus joins so I vote for launching by a certain time unless a 6th expresses interest.

Can't wait to get going!

I'm more interested in Sympathetic Cylon than Sympathizer if it ends up being necessary, since I don't like the idea of a Cylon Sympathizer being able to touch Basestar Bridge and affect the situation in space (when the situation in space doesn't influence whether he/she turns).

In BSG 138, I flipped a coin when the Sympath. card was dealt to see if it'd be a Sympathizer or Sympathetic Cylon (so if the humans tank a resource, it might help a Sympathetic Cylon's agenda when he/she turns). Pretty funny to watch as a mod laugh

My first choice is Tory; second choice is Anders.

Actually another mechanical question:
This is my second-ever PBF, and my first one was before they instantiated die rolls into threads.
Should we be using the BGG die rolling stuff, or is the mod going to roll all the dice for us?

This is the XO (and likely the Admiral). Where are all our frakkin' pilots? Report for duty! We can't afford to risk a toaster flying our only decent viper!

(Seriously, maybe it would be a good idea for both of the remaining players to choose pilots (or Helo)? I wouldn't want to see us swarmed by the CFB and then our only Pilot Reveals...)

I don't claim to be an expert, but my impression is between Pegasus and the CAG one Pilot is probably plenty. And second-string Pilot isn't very exciting.

You just don't want anyone to take Adama or Cain...

Nah. I'm just speaking from my experience with the CFB. If there isn't someone able to play red cards (whether in space, or just evasive maneuvers on the unmanned vipers), or escort civvies, it's a lot harder.

If someone else wants to outrank me for Admiral, that's fine with me. Too early to be making enemies.
