Yesterday was my first play (believe it or not) and I was wondering if, with "Dig In", you are able to move first and then improve their position or if they have to remain stationary. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

They can't move or attack or anything. They just fortify their position.

You might find it helpful to look at the Official FAQ...it can be found on the Memoir '44 web site. Here's a link:

Jesse is right and I see the reasoning behind it as use of time. You can spend your time moving or digging but not both.

The only allowed movement is downward towards the earth's center. Only dirt is moved to the side.

Which is why "Dig In" is generally considered the weakest card in the game.

Mmm, the most situational card in the game, thereby making it one of hte, if not THE, weakest. When it shines, it SHINES. But, its just not handy all that often.

It may be the least offensive card in the game - but I would not call it the weakest.

It can be very helpful to dig in (up to) 4 infantry units allowing them to ignore the first flag rolled against them. It can blunt an enemy's attack and allow you to regroup and reposition or shoot back from behind the sandbags. It can frustrate the hell out of an attacker.

Depending the scenario and your position it can be a very powerful card.
