This is a log from a game I played today on Isotropic. It is probably the most I have ever had to think in dominion. Honestly had to think and plan and gamble way too much. But in the end it payed off.

Basically my plan was to use wishing well and courtyard to set up my native villages to remove all green cards from my deck. This included all 8 duchies and 7 Dukes. A few lucky thieves obtained me a few platinums and I was in business.

Agree about the log. I also don't think I have any realistic way to understand why the game was so (in)tense. I'd certainly like to know, but I can't read a log verbatim beginning to end an understand that. And I certainly would like to hear about your thinking along the way, the decisions you made and why, etc.

Honestly if you didn't want to read an isotropic log why did you bother to open this thread? Is your life that empty and boring that you have to open a thread and complain about what is in it when it is advertised as such?

I mean I understand if I claimed it was a review of the game or even if I didn't blatantly put in the title that it contains an isotropic log you could complain... but I did. I stated that in the title. So if you are sick of reading them don't come in here.

It is a very simple concept.

I can see that. But then focus on that instead of bitching about something that I warned you about. lol.

And actually the decisions were explained. The idea behind what I was doing in the entire deck was pretty basic.. try to use my native village as a reusable island. I said this in the beginning and just about every play in the game reflects this attempt. Other than a few unlucky breaks with the NV it worked out pretty well.

Honestly, I agree with Jozsef. The problem is that we all would like to comment and discuss on interesting games, but the direct copy of log is usually just unreadable and a waste of space. For the OP, what is the benefit if say, 2/3 of the people looking at the forum just skip the post?

But of course, you can say who am I here to worry about this, oh well...

But anyway, Wishing well+Court Yard+Native village to put VPs away is an interesting idea. I don't think it works so well, but yeah, a fun thing to try.

One problem of the log is that we have no way to tell what is on the NV pad, even if we bother to look at it. So we can't even see how you're doing without you describing it.

I certainly wasn't bitching, and it didn't seem to me the fellow who posted before me was either. I opened the thread because you said it was a tense game, which sounds interesting. I knew you'd include the log, but I was expecting to get some kind of running commentary on how / why you made the decisions you made, that sort of thing. I've played you a time or two on Isotropic, so I thought it might give me a leg up the next time, if you know what I mean...
