I am opening up a full open gaming store in our local mall. I am wanting to have a complete top 100 games. The list is of current as well as the past few years over the past few years of the top 100 games. I am interested in board games or non collective card games in order to fill the shelves for our customers. Could some one help me to where to go to find such a list?
Thank you.

And also, just because a group of gamers rated a game in their top 100, doesn't mean that it's a game you'd want to have in an open gaming store at the mall.

If I could only carry 10 games here's what I'd carry:

Apples to Apples
Settlers of Catan
Carcassonne
Ticket To Ride
Set
Pirates of the Spanish Main
Quiddler
LCR
Blokus
Pit

Those are best sellers but only four or so are in the top 100.

Apples ought to be higher than it is, but Party Games don't do too well here as a rule.

There are geeklists and journals about this. I can't find the best of them right now, but try these:

To add to Sean's list, here's several of my bestseller's:

Star Wars Miniature CMG
MechWarrior Dark Age CMG
Magic: The Gathering
D&D Miniature CMG
Munchkin
Killer Bunnies
Dice sets
D6 12 & 36 dice sets
Gloom
Army of Darkness card game
Colossal Arena

Of course, there are tons more, especially the RPG's and Games Workshop stuff but you didn't mention whether you're supporting those genres or not.

I dunno. I tried Apples to Apples with a party game crowd and it was a miserable flop. They love Cranium, Taboo, and several others, but they just hated Apples to Apples.

Well, with the two games you mentioned (and a lot of other party games, for that matter), players are working toward a definitive answer. If the word in CatchPhrase is "Scarecrow," then the players know if they get it right or not. In Apples to Apples, it's all up to the judge to decide who's most right, and I think it breaks down the whole issue of "games" with part-time gamers. Apples to Apples is more a game of understanding the judge than getting the right answer.

So, yeah, I can see how it wouldn't work with some groups. I'm just hoping that it will work with my family.

It worked too well with my family... It's all they ever want to play anymore.
