I really can't stand these American reporters. Just let the NHK original sound feed run.

I don't want to hear about how hard it was to get home from your Tokyo correspondent.(CNN) I don't want to hear that you think it wasn't that bad because people were warned.(MSNBC) That's not what I saw.

I'm worried about an 8.8 earthquake! We've just had 100+ people killed here with a 6.3.

I wish all the best for the BGGers from Japan and their family and friends

Agreed 100% Sam. And adding a Tsunami into the mix, in such a densely populated country is quite scary.

Here's hoping all our Japanese gaming friends and their families (plus their collections) are safe.

My prayers are with all you BGGers who may be effected. My friend and his family are in Yokohama and at an evacuation center. He has no idea if his home has survived! Thankfully he and his family are safe.

Hawaii is under Tsunami alert btw...

The Japanese Urban Search and Rescue team have done a fantastic job here and are due to return to Japan tomorrow. I'm sure the NZ and Australian USAR teams will be heading to Japan and return the fantastic work the Japanese did here.

It is an 8.9, but that's a couple hundred kilometers off the coast. The tremors on land were in the high 6 to low 7 range. Most of the damage is going to be from the tsunami, not the quake itself.

I've just checked on the neighbours. Some had no idea. There's a threat here, but no warning. We're on the coast, so we'll be leaving at the drop of a hat if the threat becomes a warning.

Our earthquake took more than 160 lives and Japan was one of the nations that stood with us in our darkest hours. Please, Japan, understand that we now stand with you in yours.

Kia kaha and God bless. We're praying for you all.

Just reading this article from the 9th about the moon: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/space/nightsky/8369718/Mo...

Quote:
Previous "supermoons" occured around the time natural disasters - including the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami and Cyclone Tracy which devastated the Australian city of Darwin in 1974 - but scientists say there is no evidence to suggest the phenomenon is a sign of impending doom.

It looks like they are.

We have a guy called the moon man here who uses the moon to predict quakes. It's caused mass hysteria
