Prussian vs FSA
As this was our first game of Dystopian Wars we decided not to use any aircraft and the point were just about even. We wanted to get the combat rules for ships down and plan on playing again tomorrow with aircraft and maybe the cards.
Both sides had one Battleship three Cruisers and 12 Frigates. The Prussians won the roll and went first. The first turn was very uneventful and only two shots were taken and both had no effect.
Again on the Prussians got to go first on turn two. This time they move up a squadron of frigates, but were still out of range. The FSA countered with a squadron of Frigates and fired on the Prussian Frigates sinking one and damaging on then the Prussian player failed his break test.
The Prussians moved up a second squadron of frigates and fired on the FSA frigates sinking one. The FSA moves up another squadron of frigates fires one frigate from the first squadron and the damaged one sinking both and again the Prussian second squadron of frigates brakes.
The third action has the Prussian cruisers move up and open fire but bad rolling leads to sinking only a FSA Frigate. Now the FSA Cruisers come up Fire on the Prussian Cruisers and two Cruisers fire on one Prussian Cruiser and both get critical hits on it and sink it, but manage to pass it brake test. The third damages cruisers and the rockets get a Frigate.
The last ship for the Prussians is the Battleship. It moves up and fires on the FSA Cruisers getting a critical on one and missing the other. Fires on a frigate and damages that.
The FSA Battleship moves up and fires on the Prussian Battleship with one Turret, The damaged cruiser with the other turret and the rockets fire at a Frigate. He misses the battleship, sinks the cruiser and damages a frigate.
So at the end of round two the Prussians have lost two cruisers, and 3 frigates, while the FSA has lost 2 Frigates and 2 damaged, as well as a damaged cruiser.
On the third turn the FSA goes first, and activates his Battleship and fires on the remaining two cruisers and sinks them both. The Prussian battleships moves and fires on the FSA Battleship and the Cruiser and sinks the cruiser and gets a hit on the battleship but has nothing to shoot at with the secondary’s.
The FSA moves up a squadron of frigates and finish off one of the Prussian squadrons of Frigates.
At his point we called it a game as the Prussian player only had a Battleship and 2 Frigates left and he decided it was over.
We both had a lot of fun playing but the FSA player had the better of the dice rolls for the game. We are looking ahead for the rematch tomorrow, but it will be a 4 player game as we will be teaching 2 new players.
