Sounds like at least some of the tracks from the cd would be good with Arkham Horror.

Is anyone else having trouble viewing it? It's pixelated and the bottom half is just black. I can't see a thing.

I think Indiana Jones was way more tribute than ripoff, but point taken - pulp adventure existed long before Indiana Jones.

Tribute is fair! I didn't mean for that to necessarily sound that negative.

Hey Yma Sumac! I know her music, didn't know she was in a movie.

Awesome, thanks! Despite focus issues in the video, the board is really fantastic!! Love the "cliffhanger" mechanic, though the treasure collection they showed seems a little simplistic/abstract (dice roll through x trials), but I'm sure there's items to collect and other mechanics to flesh out the gameplay. This is looking great.

This looks fantastic. Glad to see Flying Frog trying its hand outside its traditional realm of sci-fi/horror -- not that I'm at all unhappy to have purchased all of their previous sci-fi/horror games; it's just good to be getting some variety!

My initial thoughts:

-- It reminds me of the proposed game, Thrilling Tales of Adventure!

-- At first, I was thinking, "Great name, great concept, great box cover, but I'm sure they are using the term 'cliffhanger' loosely -- I can't imagine a board-game actually simulating the old-fashioned Saturday-afternoon serial's cliffhanger endings." And then, I watched the second video, and yup -- they've got actual cliffhangers in there!

-- The mechanics seem somewhat similar to A Touch of Evil, but I'm pretty sure that the two games won't be compatible in the way that Last Night on Earth and Invasion from Outer Space are.

-- Li Mei Chen is a Night Club Singer and Martial Artist. Such a career combination might appear odd on the surface, but I can easily see how it could happen. I'm guessing that her first Thanksgiving break home from college, when she told Dr. and Mrs. Chen that she wanted to major in Night Club Singing, they gave her the typical lecture: "It's good to have interests, but you need something reliable to fall back on if your night-club thing doesn't work. Please consider a more practical career focus. Why can't you be a doctor like your father, or a lawyer like your Aunt Susan, or even a bank manager like your cousin Joe." Imagine their shock when she came back at Christmas break to tell them: "I've taken your advice for a more practical career focus and am now double-majoring in Night Club Singing and Martial Arts with a minor in International Glory Hunting."

Can't wait till this one comes out!

What a strange feeling.
I'm both elated and gutted by the arrival of this game. laughsoblue

Elated, because I think it's a great idea.
Gutted, because it's the title of a game of been working on for the past 7 years.

Can anyone give me advice on releasing a game with the same title as an existing one?

Easy... Call it Glory & Fortune.

Seriously, though, a title can't really be copyrighted, so you're probably free to use the title. It's just probably not advisable to conflict with an existing property.

The title is much lower in importance compared to whether the game is any good. So worry about that first. You can always find a good title if/when it's ever published.

Actually, we do have the Registered Trademark on the title "Fortune and Glory", so I'm afraid that would not work.
