The box seems to indicate 16 but I have 8. Is this a misprint or do I have missing tiles.

Most likely 8 that are double-sided. (I don't have this one yet, but that is how it is typically marked - they either come with 4 that are double-sided or 8 that are double-sided).

Brian has it right. The box says "16 obstacles". It comes with 8 two-sided tiles with a different obstacle on each side.

I just bought my first MM44 games. Looking through Winter Wars, I had the same question. I noticed from others sets in the series, it explicitly states the number of double-sided tiles and does so as double-sided; even WW does so regarding the 88 double-sided terrain tiles. When I looked at the first scenario in WW, the setup requires four bridges, of which I have two in the WW expansion.

I am looking forward to playing my first MM44 game. I sat on the fence long enough regarding this series, but based on the recommendation of a friend, I finally jumped in, and did so on the deep end. Time to sort and store all the pieces.
